You know how people make fake flowers out of tissue paper?

Is it possible to make cute flowers out of sewing tissue paper?

((I do not mean that I want to sew the flowers. I just mean the pattern paper that is generally used for sewing.))


I've been trying different methods, but I think that maybe the tissue paper that is used for sewing is just too thick. I used the same techniques with kleenex and it looks cute, but the pattern one is less cute.

Anyone have any good experience with this?
I want to make it for a friend who sews.

Actually, any ideas in general for pattern tissue paper? I always have tons leftover since patterns come with lots of ugly designs that I don't use.
