Does anyone have any experience using UV Fabric paint?
I have several question and I can't find much information online and I can't find anything about the brand I have.
Mostly I am going to a rave for the first time in god 10 yrs. My roommate has never been to one and wants to go at least once before we are too old. So we are going to this Massive this weekend and we are going all out.
He wants me to paint up a design on a black shirt with UV paint. THe paint doesn't show up very well on black obviosuly. Is it still going to work or does it have to be on a white shirt? I am going to dig up a black light I think I have one to test it out but the paint was exspensive so trying not to waste it either.
Either way he doesn't want it to look like crap in normal light which right now it does. Could I use regular fabric paint so the color shows then put the UV paint over it? Or will it just be too thick and crack off?
Any suggestions would be helpfull.

The Silence Plush - Doctor Who

x-posted to geekcrafts, cute_plush, craftygoths
So I like to make creepy and geeky things into cute plushies. I've been planning to make this for a while and I'm happy to say my The Silence plush is now finished. There are a few more things I'd like to tweak for future plushies of him, but I think for a first attempt, he's pretty good. Off he goes to the art show Plush You 2012 at Schmancy in Seattle.

A bit more about him at my Suzannah Ashley blog.

Ok, so I'm performing as a character called "Rita Book," in about 10 days and am working on my costume. I am thinking about trying to make a belt buckle out of a book, but what I really want is something like this:

Especially the one on the right. How would I make something like that? Ideas? Suggestions?

Hi everybody! I'm new and wanted to start things off with a victory blog post! Nice to meet all of you!
It's been a very busy and stressful week for me! But all is well in the world once again as a ticket to go see the Big Bang Alive Tour on November 9th is sitting in my e-mail patiently waiting for me to print it out! For those who aren't into k-pop you wouldn't understand the victory that is getting your hands on a ticket to see Big Bang for the first time but for those who do...you know!
I was up at seven in the morning to put the last five dollars of ticket money into my bank account and had to wait until nine for the bank to officially open up and take my money. Mind you, the tickets went on sale at ten o'clock on the dot and the bank was a mile and a half away from my house and I don't own a car. I ran all the way home after I got done with the bank. And no, I didn't run then stop and walk for a few minutes. I RAN!
After that ordeal I waited at my computer with shake hands and a poundung heart, raping the refresh button every few seconds. After the tickets went on sale I bought mine faster than tornado winds and had it waiting in my e-mail in under ten minutes. I didn't try for vip passes because I didn't have the money for it plus I knew it would be hell trying to get one. I was right, after I bought mine I found out that the vip passes sold out in under a minute! And the whole thing was sold out by Sunday!
Glad I bought my ticket, I ran around the house scremaing in victory...in my pajamas>_>. My little brother and sister looked at me as if I was an escaped mental patient, and I don't blame them.
Now on the flip side, with me trying to get rid of my stash of yarn and knitting and crocheting everything in sight I knitted this little diddly up in about two weeks, the scarf taking up most of my time.

I'm becoming very fond of circle scarves lately.
Anyway, after taking this picture I decided a pair of fingerless gloves would go perfect with the set. I don't have a picture just yet but I'll get it up here soon enough. So that's it for now, Happy creating everyone!

Tarts made from an old candle
Sep. 24th, 2012 05:35 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
A few days ago I found a small Yankee Candle jarred candle in the attic. It had accidentally ended up in a box with other things, laying on its side. Well, we had a really hot summer, and that candle was all kinds of melted and rehardened (from the recent cool temps) and deformed. Totally unburnable. Which sucked because it was almost a full candle.
So I started to think about if/how I could salvage it. Did some googling, and found out how to melt the wax and save the jar at the same time. I had some small, silicone cupcake liners that I wasn't using anymore, and decided to make little tarts for the candle warmer we have.

Earrings to match a bracelet

Hi all.
Couple days ago, I posted pictures of a bracelet that I've made. I'm not wearing necklaces, but I like to wear jewelries in set. That's why I usually make earrings matched with a bracelet.

A Word from a Word Artist

I’m so happy, that Hannah has agreed to join my blog...
She’s very interesting person, and I enjoy reading her articles....
I should confess that I’m not a jewelry maker. But maybe that’s an advantage in commenting on jewelry. By profession I’m a writer, and that is an advantage in commenting on a lot of things. But why jewelry of all things?

I'm currently working on a plastic canvas kit a dear friend sent me for my birthday last April. It's a complete doll house with furniture. I've put it on the back burner until I got some other projects out of the way and have now picked it up again. I sure hope I can figure out how to pur it all together once I get the panels done. i was also pondering about how to dress up those walls a bit rather than have them a solid color. They needed somethign to give it a homey feel.
When I received a catalog of needlework this morning I glanced through it, decided there was nothing at this time I wanted to order and almost tossed it in the recycle bin. Then it hit me, some of those pictures were the perfect size for the house! Framed even!! There was something for the hallway, another suited for the living room, even some for the nursery!!! All I needed to do was cut them out and tack them up:)
My dollhouse is going to have the 'A crafter lives here!' feel to it:) !!

First Crochet w/ No Pattern
Sep. 20th, 2012 09:09 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Hello everyone!
I've never posted here before so I thought to introduce myself I would share a scarf that I finished making last night. Its a birthday gift for my mom next month and she loves dark reds and burgundies.
There was no pattern which was new for me, I just sat down and started playing with stitches. In the end I settled on 20 rows of single crochet at each end and an uncounted amount of half double crochets for the main body of the scarf. I had to google how to add fringe but besides that it was all me! :) /proud
Ignoring the fringe its 60 inches long. Also, this is my first scarf. I normally just make afghans and blankets. I almost feel like a knitter or something, making a wearable lol ;)

Amigurumi Squiggoth
Sep. 19th, 2012 07:49 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I finished my husband's squiggoth. It turned out well. A squiggoth is a monster from Warhammer 40k.
I had no pattern for the beast, so I had to make it up as I went along. I am really proud of it.

( More pictures under the cut :)))))) )
