I've replied to a few posts here and have been lurking for a while, but now I have a question that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

I have recently planted several fruit trees, some with three different varieties grafted to the same main branch. Because of these 'franken-trees', as I call them, I'm wanting to make some sort of label or sign that I can hang from them so that I know what each are growing.  Right now I have the little tags that the nursery puts on them, but I don't like that in the long run.  I want something that will not wrap itself around the branch from which it hangs, and will not get entangled into the others signs/labels. I thought of wire - go from one corner of the label to the other loosely and hanging off the branch - but that leaves me with the label itself.  Any ideas of anything that would hold up to sun, heat, wind and water for many years?

Hey all. Sorry for the text only post. Will keep it brief!

I am a photographer and want to start making my own masks, props and head pieces for use in creative portraits. I'm a fairly arty individual and love learning new skills but don't know where to start with this.

Basically, I want to create quirky, unique, weird and pretty masks, head pieces and props using papier mache, wire, glitter, clay, plaster, fabric and anything else available - can anyone point me to a good starting place? Books, websites, inspiration.. anything that's a good source for teaching oneself the required skills or giving ideas.

Thanks for reading!

Where are your favorite places to buy fabric online? Specifically I am looking for animal prints. I already have cow, zebra, and giraffe but that is about all I could find at my local (rather small) Jo-ann's. Thanks!

I don't have a craft yet (Darn! I'm working on large-scale DIY projects & the business still) but, I wanted to know what your FAAAVOURITE craft blogs are. I prefer blogs with lots of writers, or someone who does multiple project types (So not just a crochet blog, a sewing blog, or a paper mache blog) I need lots of recommendations!

I have the Craftzine blog and Sew, Mama, Sew! right now, but SMS doesn't update that frequently with very interesting things, and I've exhausted the Craftzine articles already.

Hello crafty ladies!

I would like to make a card for a friend of mine using a photo. I would also like for this card to have some sort of almost scrapbooking-look to the background (Nothing fancy, just a design like some pretty pink scrapbooking paper).

I'd love to find a free website that can help me incorporate these ideas into a finished product-And recommendations?

(Oh, and I do no have an actual hard copy of the photo because I do not want her to know I'm making the card-I want to be able to use my mom's photo quality printer and matte photo paper to print the card, but if the only way to do this is to make a card out of card stock or something and then add the photo, I guess I can print the photo seperately and just use some of the scrapbooking paper I have here at the house-I was just SOOOO hoping for a much simplier way to accomplish this!)

Hey all! Sorry for the text only, but I have a quick question:
does anyone have any recommendations for craft books that are especially geared towards kids? My 8-year-old nephew loves to do different kinds of crafty projects; whenever I visit him he always wants me to help him with some kind of project! So I wanted to get him a book that has various types of crafts/craft type projects in it that we can choose from. Any books in particular that I should take a look at? Or, maybe you can share some of your favorite crafty projects you like to do with the kiddos in your life. Thanks as always for any ideas/suggestions! =)
