Ribbon Rack?

Hello!

I know you are all waiting for my crochet tutorial, but I had a brainstorm, and I want to run it by more seasoned crafters before I spend money on it.

I want, nee, need to make a ribbon holder. It will be the first in my quest for world domination a clean room over this winter break. I have spools of ribbon and trims all over the place, and they take up a lot of space in the bins and stuff I currently have them in.

My brain thinks it will be a good I idea to hang them on dowels on the wall. My wallet thinks that I have VERY little money. So, my idea was to make a rack, rather than buy one.

Here is the plan. I am going to buy either some (CHEAP) molding, and have them miter the corners (if they will do that for me- I don't have the tools... I can live with non mitered corners though.) and make a simple frame. I'll add a small bit of wood or something of the like to the corners, so it sits out from the wall. Then, I'll add "eyes", you know the things that they use in hook and eye door locks. I'll buy wooden dowels at walmart, and thread the ribbon spools on those, then thread them through the eyes.

Also, I am not looking to buy anything, or for other suggestions. I am pretty set in thinking I can do this, or I will wait till I can make one in a different style. I do not wish to buy anything right now. Thank you!
