Book Frames
Dec. 5th, 2010 08:30 pmI got a whole bunch of old encyclopedias at the book sale and didn't know what I would do with them. I usually make altered scrapbooks but wanted to try something else. I started by making a frame from the cover. Using an exacto knife I cut a 5x7 opening, painted the book purple and black then I used a couple of rubber stamps on black cardstock. I added a few embellishments to just give it a bit of a finished look. Then I decided to make one of these books into an actual picture frame.
Here's the rubber stamped one:

I saved the first page because I thought it looked kinda cool. But the photo slips in and covers the cityscape picture.

And here's the photo all the way down.

I glued all the pages together and painted them with the purple paint just because I like purple. You could make the opening smaller or turn the book a different way for other size photos.
