I don't know why it took me so long to figure this out, but...

I've been making fizzy bath bombs for a while now, and eventually gave up on it for a while, because I could not think of a good way to mold them. I tried putting them in regular small soap molds, but they didn't hold the shape that well, and pitted a few of my molds. I started making fizzy bath salts instead, because you can just put them in a jar.
Anyway. I was in AC Moore a few weeks ago, in the wedding section (I think) and noticed a display of those plastic ornament balls, the ones that snap into two pieces so that you can fill them, and then put them back together. I got one, just to try it out, and the night before last I made a batch of fizzy stuff, wetted it a bit, scooped it into the ball and stuck it together, and now I have PERFECT ROUND BATH BOMBS, just like you'd buy at a store. I am so happy. I'd take a picture, but like I said, they're just round balls, like you'd see at the store, so there's not much of a point.

HAs anyone else caught the show You're Invited on the 'style network'? Normally I just watch that channel for a giggle, but this show had some great crafty ideas. Unfortunately the official site doesn't link the projects done (something food-network is great about) so next time I catch it I'll need a notepad in hand.

I work at a web design company where most of the time I goof off and play with graphics. I have lots of graphics that I've designed, but have no idea what I could start using them for. I thought about making buttons out of them, but I'd need a button maker... not to mention someone to buy them or at least some way that I could actually sell them. Then I thought of the idea of putting them on t-shirts... but so far, despite my bit of advertising on my website, nothing is happening with that.

But then I thought about it more.... and realized that I might be able to sell them at our local Scrapbooking shop. I'm sorta kinda friends with the owner, and might be able to get her to help sell them, or even make them a special-order kinda thing.... but I'm not sure if it'd work.

Do any of you gals have any ideas? Besides pins and marbles? I have nothing to decoupage and personally wouldn't like the look of them all decoupaged together. I've thought about making posters or something too but I dont know.... I'm just really tired of making all these graphics and having no use for them anywhere else but on my computer desktop :-/

WOOT!!!

[livejournal.com profile] fabusplody inspired me! :D

I made some magnets using flat glass marbles and photos I printed from my computer.

The photo kinda sucks because the glass has sort of an irridescent treatment, which makes it all sparkly but difficult to photograph. Anyway, they're truly hip, and I can't wait to make these with my 6th graders next week. :D

i looked through the faq and only saw one site that had buttons for sale.
anybody have buttons for sale? i'm looking to buy buttons for a present for my boyfriend.

hi, i lurk mostly here so this is my first post. this may sound a little vague (for which i apologize), but i have a question:

i have black yarn and i have red yarn and i'm thinking of knitting something striped. i have two large Red Heart skeins of black yarn, and one skein of approximately the same amount of red yarn. i've done enough scarfs to whet my appetite, and i don't have enough for a sweater. i could do armwarmers but i already have a pair of plain black ones, and i don't have the needles for gloves.

so could anyone suggest something interesting for me to do? i was considering maybe a hat, or trying to do a shrug or a skirt of some sort.

thanks everyone!

hello...
im new here, i went thru the memories and couldnt find my question:

does anyone know where to find websites with free sewing patterns on them? patterns for anything really, i wont be picky since i am low on cash lately.

i just bought the handy stitch(as seen on tv!), and it seems to work pretty well. it will due until my sewing machine is fixed. thanks!

Showin off some of my Duct tape and wine charm crafts...

Thanks to all the GRRLS that told me to head to the dollar store for colored tape. Now I love the 1$ store! The silver is my FAVE. I also made little pockets inside for an ID. These shut with Velcro. I used Pin-up clip art from a site I found. We all know how to do the Wine Charms (so addictive!) but I wanted to show you a new way to display them for gifts.

um hi yo.

I always buy at least one wine glass charm when I go to the craft store. I have two now, glass cherries and a metal high heel. I have ran out of spare actual necklace.. necklaces.. and I um, think I need ideas of what to put them on. Other than string because they aren't heavy and it'd like, float, yknow? Putting them on beaded necklaces would take away from the cuteness of them too much. I think I might end up putting them on that clear plastic string twine stuff.

any other suggestions? i dont know if there will be but i'm just curious. haha.

i just wanted to share, that i have out of the blue disovered something that helps me immensly with my knitting. this is probably very obvious, but i think i will say anyways. well, my house is full of old knitting needles, so i usually just use whatever is sitting around. well, i was having trouble with my scarf, and i thought since i wasnt too far in, i would switch to a different gauge needle with nice coating on them. well, the ones i used are like mini-needles, they are very short. oh my goodness, it is so much easier for me working with small needles! so i thought i would share for all the people out there like me (short): small person=small knitting needles. who woulda thought? probably everyone but me, but anyways. yup.

Okay, my principal has decided that all teachers need to play classical music in their classrooms at least for part of each class. I love classical music, but I need some that is soothing and mellow -- sort of blends into the background and doesn't distract.

It has to be classical, not elevator music, or even ambient.

Any suggestions?

SO

What music gets you crafty?

(I HAD TO IT WAS DYING TO BE ASKED)

I can't think of anything, except, maybe, the Martha stewart theme. mmm mm mmm mmm mmm

I found out that my sister-in-law collects Rubber Duckies, so this is what she got in addition to a rubber duck cake pan....
