i dunno how usefull this is or anything, but it was something my mom liked to do for me when i was little. what you do is you take a clothespin, the straight wooden kind, not the metal clampy kind. you put glue on it and wrap thread, using the bottom where it splits in two to hold the fabric as legs, the mid-section for a shirt, and the the little round nobble on top for hair. you draw a face on and voila! you have a worry doll. my mom gave them to me when i was little and told me to tell them all my worries. or it could just be a little doll, either way i thought it was cute and i would share. i hope that all made sense.

i wore these to the club tonight. i sold all of them that had anything to do with punk. all i did was give a couple to my friends and put a few on my camera bag and leather jacket.

tonight i'm making a special set for a tattoo artist/artist that's in town showing some art.

i'm starting to feel more secure that sharon osbourne will like her push pin set.

I have a bunch of tiny jars, and I was wondering if you have any suggestions on what I could do with them?
They're about an inch and a half high, and two inches wide. They have regular screw cap. Thanks in advance!

i'm having quite the dilemma.

my boyfriend and i just dis-assembled our fishtank [it just was too time consuming and my cat would not allow anything in it to live] ANYWAYS...

we kept the stand but got rid of the tank. i had a makeshift cover over the stand while the tank was up, i never got around to making it pretty or crafting anything nice out of it.

so now is my chance to make a nice stand cover/spread but i am all out of ideas. does anyone have any ideas/patterns/suggestions/etc?

here are some pictures of everything i'm talking about:
[maybe that will enduce plenty of creative visions - they are kinda crappy pictures]

stand with fabric as is - looks ok i guess, but could look A LOT BETTER )

Hi there - I remember a post quite a while ago discussing burning designs into velvet with rubber stamps. I KNOW it was here somewhere, because I commented with a tip. However, I can't find it in the memories...

So, does anybody have instructions on doing this? I basically know how to do it but I can't remember how long to press with the iron. I'm sure I could experiment but I'd rather not waste my precious velvet :p

Also... I know it doesn't work well to use velveteen, but I was thinking of trying it on some suedecloth (it feels sort of like suede but is much flimsier) to jazz up some skirts I wanted to make. Does anybody have any idea if that would work, or know of another way to burn or otherwise create designs into a fabric like that? Or any other fabric, to boot...

If anybody has some helpful hints I would be very appreciative!

As crafty grrls, we also have to be educated grrls. Rather than an 'I didn't know' sort of complaint, I say we add this post, and the link provided below in our memories, or on our info page.
As a crafty girl, a knitter, a writer, a painter and an artist in general I would hate to ever infringe on another artists work, or have my own trampled on, and for all of us this is a personal issue

I've never posted on here before. But I've watched.
You all can add me to your friends list if you want. =)

Anyway, I want to make checkbook covers.
What should I make them out of?

Is there any online pattern /instructions for the following or can you give me any?

circle skirt
sailor dress
mod-ish looking jackets with high collars
square dance dresses
short capes / shawls that you wear over shirts and such.

And how to you make a pleated skirt?

Anyone help?
