Awhile back someone posted about knitting the fat hat from the book, Hip to Knit. Well, I decided to buy this book because the hat was so neat. The pattern is written really poorly and I'm looking for the posts. I have searched using the craftgrrl search, scoured the memories section, and looked at every post subject on the calender view. I still can't find the posts. Whoever posted about this has a userpic with a stitch stuffed animal wearing the hat. I could use any info/help I could get.

thanks,
sarah

it has come to my attention that i need a much larger table space than i have for all the crafting i do. my mom came to me the othr day with a great ida. here are the supplies for our project and how we'll use them...
1. plain wooden door with no molding, panels or knob holes as a table-top.
2. 28" tall table legs of desired style [not sure yet]
3. 31" horizontal closet organizer for tabletop organization [double shelf plus storage undrneath]possibly two of these since the door is making an 80" long table surface
4. pl;astic 3-drawer rolling carts as seen here for storage beneath table
5. 18-gallon tote for even more storage. already have this =D

i'm sure things will chang but i will have updates and pictures as the project ensues. first step...clean room lol

and a rant...
i went to walmart, lowes AND kmart. where is the frikkin' black and/or hot pink duct tape??? must people use JUST black and/or pink to tape plastic to their windows???

hi! my name is jaymi and my friend michelle and i just started a community called [livejournal.com profile] sew_much_fabric.

it is a community for people that love to sew (no matter your skill level) and have supplies and fabrics that they want to swap or that they are looking for. we would also love to see what you are making! our community is new, so we don't have many members yet. but, if you have a chance, check out our info and hopefully you will join!

thanks!

My best friend [livejournal.com profile] crazygirl62612 and I love making duct tape wallets. I also make a lot of other nifty thrifty things. We figured "let's make a bunch of them and sell them at a flea market or a craft sale!" Does anyone else do this? How profitable is it actually?

So far, the two main things we're going to be selling are duct tape wallets (and maybe purses if they come out good), marble magnet sets, and marble picture frames. I'm also thinking of selling some votive sets too.

This weekend, I'm going to the farm (they have a big crafty selection) and seeing what kinds of supplies they have on sale too, see if I could incorporate any of that.

Any other suggestions of stuff to make? Or, if you do this sort of thing with craft fairs or flea markets, any tips to share?

i have tons of dead batteries lying around my bedroom. i hate throwing them away, i don't know the actual facts but i'm assuming they take forrever to biodegrate. soooo...any ideas? i've been trying to find something crafty to do with them, but my mind is drawing a blank.

I made some Multiple Myeloma ribbons for Mom's social worker except that I ran out of ribbon and was only able to make 7. I will go to Ben Franklin this weekend. I also decorated a photo box with a wedding picture of me, a MM ribbon, a picture of Rusty as a kitten, a picture of Mike and I, and stickers. Inside the box, I put tickets to movies, all the muscial theatre shows we have been to, a wedding announcement, pictures of our wedding, the 2000 Mets vs. Cards play off game, love letters that Mike wrote me while I was in college, and the champagne corks from our annivesary that we spent in St. Gen and from our first date. I know it may be cheesy but it looks really pretty. I need to get a good digital camera and take some pics. Mine is junky.

So, I'm in the process of making a t-shirt patch bean bag chair..but I've run into one problem. I don't know what to stuff it with. I really don't want to use polyfill..and I think buying 100 bags of beans would be a little bit much...does anyone have suggestions? All help would be much appreciated..Thanks. :)

My prom is this Saturday and I've got everything ready to go my dress, my shoes, the whole nine yards. So I tried it all on the other day to see what it all came together as and I looked boring! I have a red dress- normal prom looking type dress (one strap & poofy bottom) I'm wearing my own shoes- chuck taylors (My date and I decided to match and they actually look good with it.) but my dress just looks way to prom-blah-normal. So I sat there and thought "I'm a crafty girl, how can I change it??" and I can't think of anything! I don't want to do anything to permanently ruin it but I want to give it some umph!

Any suggestions?

since my first attempt at making magnets with pink-ish marbles failed, i went and got some clear ones. and here are the results so far! )

ps - the two flat/white looking ones in the left hand corner are actually little round mirrors i glued onto the magnets. (they are reflecting the sky, which is why they look white). I thought it might be cool to do a whole bunch of the little mirror ones and display on my fridge or at work on my metal bookshelf. (if yer interested - i got the mirrors at Michael's right next to the magnets.)

Hey everyone!

This is the first time I have posted something I've made, rather than just lastminute questions I think of in the middle of doing something.

Its a painting I did for my friend Statto's birthday. He's in the middle as a superhero, surrounded by the stuff he's into. More behind the cut, and the pic
