I have 6 AOL tins and 4 AOL-type CDs to trade - I'd be looking for decent glass beads or random finished items like a knitted something or a small purse. Thanks!

Hi everyone. I'm new here. Never really considered myself to be terribly crafty as I have an extremely short attention span, but I do enjoy knitting and doing home improvement type stuff.
So here's my question:
I want to re-apolster an old chair. How would I go about measuring it to find out how much fabric I need? Any other tips before I get myself "in over my head?"
Thanks!

I work with a kid that is autistic and classified as profoundly mentally retarded. So, even though he's fifteen, he functions with about the dexterity of a four or five year old. I'm trying to find a project for him to make for his mother for Mother's Day. I know I'll end up doing most of the work, but I still want him to be able to participate. Does anyone have any ideas?

So I've decided to have a girl's night at my house with 8 of my closest girl friends. It's going to be like in the movies, when girls have make overs and face masks and painting nails and magazines and everything.

I'm planning on sending everyone home with a special personalized paper bag. I plan on having the girl's name on the bag, painted according to her own style and whatnot (the crowd attending is really diverse, so I think it'll be neat). Inside the bag I plan on putting a personalized "i love you/ i think you're awesome" type of letter, along with some things that I've made for them, but I want each bag to be as differant on the outside, as it is on the inside, if possible.

I was thinking mix cds, poems on cards, a fabric-painted t-shirt, a handmade journal...and then I sort of draw a blank.
These girls are into everything type of music, dancing, art, fashion, reading, writing, film, the list goes on.
For this particular night, I dont want anything to be too elaborate, and it has to fit inside of a paper bag, but all ideas would be greatly appreciated, as we plan on making this a monthly type of thing, and I'd love to always send my girlfriends home with handmade things.
I also would love to emphasize the whole be happy with being a girl, with being yourself type of thing, but since I dont have alot of ideas as the moment, I'm not getting too choosey just yet.

Thanks in advance!

Just a quick question --

I need 32 more 2 inch squares of yellow fabric for my current project. I would prefer different patterns too, and it doesn't really matter what pattern. Any idea how I can get these? Does anyone have any they might trade? I've got plenty of fabric I would be willing to trade back.

And if no one is willing to trade, does anyone know the smallest cut of fabric you can buy in the store? Can I get 1/8 of a yard? 1/16 of a yard?

(Crossposted -- thanks guys)
