hi!

i was looking at how to make photo bracelets and I want to try this out coz it looks really cool!...but I'm not sure what Clear sticky back paper means (tape?) or where I should look for it. If anyone can help me with this I'd really appreciate it! <3

ugh. okay, guys. i went into a store today in hoboken, nj called hand made - and they had alot of stuff there. but it was WAY too expensive for me.. they sold FAKE record bowls for $20! not even real records! but what i really wanted was:

a square basket made out of wire/metal bottle caps, and a handbag with 'cocktail girls' all over, and hand bag made out of old newspapers

now, when i felt the bag, it just felt like contact paper over the newspaper, as well as the cocktail girls bag, does anyone know what it was, exactly? i'd love to make one.

and the basket.. i have no idea how the caps were secured, 'cos it looked like apiece of wire was inside, while the other was crisscrossed over. erm. anyone know??

sorry for wasting your time if this made no sense :)

Well, hubby's got the scanner tied up so I can't show you what I'm working on at the moment, but I thought I'd go ahead & post some things I made back in August for a friend. Claire's a quilter & tatter, so several of us sent motifs. I also made her a bracelet.

I'm a lurker and the reason I actually posted was because I just felt really inspired by everyone in this community ^_^; I want to be a DIYer >D It's just a great way to express creativity and originality. Can anyone recommend some books/magazines that I should read to get started? (No one makes anything in my house).

hi!

Do any of you know if the post office allows you to send letters in triangular-shaped evelopes? I've seen circular postcards, but I'm not sure... I made one envelope today and I was gonna make more ....anyway...Any help/info would be appreciated! ^_^ Thanks!

Hi guys I just thought it would be polite of me to introduce myself since I just joined. I've read the community a few times to get ideas like how to turn a record sleeve into a box and I decided to join. My name is Laura. I am 21. Hi. Hello. How are you? and such. I like to make things. The thing I've been thinking about making recently is like a manniquin only with an odd face and pointy arms. I was thinking paper mache would be suitable for this. Has anyone ever made a manniquin to wear their clothes? I think it would look badass. One of these days I need to start that. I think I will form it with chicken wire around a wooden frame and put the papier mache on that and paint it at the end. I'll post it if I do it soon :)
anyway hi ^.^

ok. i've been a lurker for a while, and i made this a while back, but thought i should post some pic for my first post.

it was supposed to be a messanger bag but i made a panel, figured i wouldn't have the attention span to finish it, cut it up and made a purse.
1.5 rolls of duct tape and an hour or so later and voila:
100% duct tape )

These are for the show Freaks and Geeks. I made them for my TV class for my final project. Now I have to write my paper about self-reflexivity and intertextuality.
All the pictures! )
Please enjoy :)
