Hi all! New here!

I decided to add a DIY craft projects area to my website. The first project is a little purse that you wear on your arm (or your wrist or your leg if you're feelin cheeky) for when you don't feel like carrying a purse or filling your pockets. It's the perfect project for leftover scraps of fabric.

Here's a pic:

And here's the instructions:

P.S. If ya want to take a little look around the site and give me any feedback, I wouldn't protest. ;)

Ok, I have an ooooollllld mac powerbook 3400 (think boring black box) & I really want to do something schnazzy with it (mainly just the top). First thought was beads (of course) but then I realized I'd end up with a laptop of smashed glass because of how much it gets banged around. Plus it already weights like 7.5lbs & adding a few more pounds of glass to it doesn't sound so swift. Sooooo beads are out - other ideas? Think modge podge would hurt the casing? Permanency is ok, preferrable actually since I don't want stuff falling/sliding off during the banging around lol Open to suggestions! lol

Thanks for all the advice- I hate this stupid thing and it was almost more trouble than it was worth- but it came out OK, so I shouldn't complain too much.
Her room is going to have a "paper doll" theme, so I dangled some vintage, cut-out, glued and varnished stuffed outfits...

aight, so i posted a while back about wedding gifts for my boyfriend's bro...

we will probably make something else as well, but the boyfriend had an idea of making pillows...

his brother writes and illustrates comics, and he has a series with characters that are mostly animals [rabbit, fox, turtle, etc.]. so my boy had the idea of making pillows featuring some of these characters. he blew up scenes from the comic books that featured 4 characters, and we ended up using felt to layer the different features of each characters [we traced each shape of the face on wax paper and then used that as a template on the felt]. it looks REALLY frickin' bad ass and very detailed. we also used embroidery floss to make lines in the faces, etc.

so ANYWAY, my question is...since we are done with our little felt buddies, what fabric would you suggest using for the pillows? we are just going to sew the felt guys right on the pillow. they are supposed to be form over function, so it doesn't matter too much how comfy the fabric is, but what do you think would go well with felt? i am not too cultured in the fabric dept.

thanks in advance, and i shall post pictures when they are done.

HAPPY MEAL

My sister got a McDonald's happy meal today. I wanted to keep the box because I loved the movie "Finding Nemo". I was wondering, is there anything I can do to the box to kind of...preserve it? I want to use it like a little bag, to carry stuff around in...but I don't want it to rip or anything. Sorry if this sounds stupid.

P.S. I think the regular McDonald's box would look better.

I was looking in the attic earlier for an old photo album when I came across an envelope of old X-Rays that my dad has when he had a couple of clots in his lungs. he's fine now thankfully but the X-Rays look pretty cool and I was thinking about using some of them to decorate my university room. does anyone have any ideas how this could work as they'd need to be protected in a clear see through frame and would need a light behind them for the full effect. maybe they could be bent and used as lampshades or is there a warning against exposing that type of film to heat and light for a long time?

or is this too creepy to be crafty?

It says we can post pictures of work we've done here?
I just wanted to post two collages that I was proud of, since I took all the photos myself so it made it more personal!
They were birthday gifts for two members ofmy favourite band easyworld and I had a lot of fun putting them together and giving it to them.
the lead singer, Dav really liked it and called it an "ego montage" and the drummer Glenn was very happy with his and I think he's hung his up.

I'm just currently collecting photos of the third member, the bassist Jo, to do hers :) she wrote on a cd cover at a signing once, "I can't wait for my birthday so i can get one of your ego montages!" hehehe.
Me and the fans also keep this book going, it's a book where we put our photos in, and things we find in magazines and thoughts/ramblings/rants about the band, and letters to the band, they're all together in one book and when it's full, we're going to give it to them as a present, i think it's been going for about a year now! :) They'll be able to keep it as a keepsake of their fan's memories and thoughts about them and hopefully they'll like it!
