so even though i complained about the price, i gave in and bought one pattern at walmart tonight, it was 2.75, not that bad....and i really can't wait to make the corset- in the picture, i like the first one and the last one, but if you look at the way it fits the girl, it goes up a little too high for me- what can i say, if im gonna bother wearing a corset, i want it to do what it's made for, show off a lil cleavage at least....how can i modify this without screwing it up totally?

I'm on the hunt for large, mostly round beads in the 12-25mm range. Glass, porcelain, interesting wood, fimo/sculpey, anything but plastic really. If anyone has any to trade, please let me know! I have tons and tons of beads and findings and handcrafted jewelry.

Is there any way to get pictures/letters off of shirts? I'm not really sure what its made of...Kind of plasticy stuff...Anyway, it would be a big help if its possible to get it off! :)

I was going to buy a new light switch cover for my bedroom but seeing that they didnt have the one that I wanted/needed at target I was thinking about re-doing it on my own... Just thought that I would run the idea by you guys to see if it would work.

I was planning on going to (I'm on a short budget too) Hobby Lobby and getting rubber cement, an exacto knife, and pink fabric paint. I was gonna sandpaper the light plate cover and paint it. Then I was going to cut out a Hello Kitty picture off of my bandaid box, and rubber cement it on.

Do you think this would work? Or should I try something else? My ears are open :)

(I also have some projects that I did last month that I have to take pics of)

I checked the FAQ, but I couldn't find anything about this...

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could use wire for, other than making bracelets? my boyfriend took a voice & data cabling course last year, and after class one day, he brought home a bunch of wire that they were just going to throw out. I'm pretty sure it was telephone wiring... but anyways, the pieces are each about 2 feet long, and in a variety of colours, blue, purple, red, orange etc. (I was going to take a picture, but I can't find my crappy webcam) when I was little, I used to make bracelets by twisting the wire, but that's the only thing I can think of to do with it...but I have more than I'd want to use for bracelets, and would really like to do something nifty with it, but I can't think of anything on my own! any ideas?

Okay girls... I haven't posted anything worth really replying to on here in a long time, but I just got engaged and have about 6 months to plan and get everything done (Date is set for January 17th of 2004... because we just can't wait any longer than that).

I have tons of ideas... but still need some help. To name a few ideas, instead of throwing rice/birdseed we're having rose petals thrown (which somehow I'm making I think)... and my family is baking and decorating my cake, and my uncle who rocks at decorating is going to help take care of the floral arrangements (probably with flowers from the dollar store).

Now for what I'm having trouble coming up with..... Favors for the tables. I need something super cheap but classy (my colors are black and white/ivory... very pretty formal look in the afternoon). I only have a $4,000 budget for my dress and food and everything (food at the reception is going to be probably just cake and desserts and fruit because my guy and I both love desserts and we don't want a whole big party thing since we want to get it over with and head to the honeymoon hehe). I have no idea what to do... I've thought about making a CD as a favor, since I do graphic design I can make the lables and stuff, but I dont know.. those would be cheap, but I'd ahve to find the songs and I'm avoiding Kazaa right now since they're monitoring crap.

Any of you gals have some ideas? Or maybe any other ideas for decorating and such that goes with the formal look but is cheap?? I'm open to all kinds of ideas right now since I'm just getting started, though I know basically what I want.

Quick question--is there an easier way to remove the labeling glue from glass jars? I've been scrubbing on my old mayo and mustard jars all afternoon and I thought maybe someone out there knew of something that could get the glue off more easily. I know there's goo-gone, but is there something more 'homemade'?
thanks everybody!

so, i got this empty box from a 6-pack of coronas, and i want to make it into a purse.
Any ideas of how i can do this? i think its a simple problem of reinforcing the cardboard and removing the dividers, but it still seems not big enough (in a way).

any suggestions?

Hello everyone!

I was curious how I should go about making a hammock? I want to do a material one, not crocheted. I remember someone posting pics of a hammock she made, and I can't find the link in the FAQ or in the calendar. I also don't remember her username. I've been looking for a while now. Please help!
