Ok, I looked in the memories, and I couldn't find it...

For a handwarmer/heatpad, could I fill it with dried kidney beans? I crocheted the outside and I'm afraid rice will fall out. I really want to use something I have around the house...Thoughts?

I want to paint the stairs at our new house. They're wood and feel solid, except for the edge of the first step, which looks like it's rotted a bit. Obviously, that needs to be fixed up before they are to be painted. (Any ideas?) We just recently had the carpet removed from them (they had carpet everywhere x_x) and they look rather icky. You can see a few layers of old paint, and like I said, they just look icky. I'm thinking that a nice deep red would look great! ^_^ My question is, how would I go about painting them? I know for sure they'd have to be sanded first. I don't have a sander, so I'd have to do it by hand. Luckilly, most of the stairs are cement and therefore don't need painting. There's only five wooden steps, with the top step being a small porch before the door. What type of sandpaper would you recommend? After they were sanded, would I need to prime them? After that, what should I paint them with? I mean, would something labelled as outdoors paint work fine? I doubt that there's a specific "stair paint"! XD

This is the stairs with the carpet on them. Sorry, that's the only photo I have. The garden's beautiful, I'd love to show it to you, but then you'd be abel to pick the house out on the street, and that wouldn't be good.

Yup, so thanks muchly for the help! ^^

I'm really excited because i've been in this community for a long time and i've never posted a project! Mostly because I start MANY projects and then put them down and don't work on them much.

WELL, I finally finished something.

Check It Out )

A friend of mine - who happens to be a great conceptual artist - told me that I should get into arts & crafts. I am decided to make a dress following his instructions:

1. Get a dress you like but it is torn or falling apart...
2. Tear it apart... gently!
3. Copy its design (A matter of copy & paste with fabric)
4. Put the parts together...
5. Add details (Spiders, crosses, whatever your taste fancies)
6. Put the parts together again, just in case...
7. Wear...

So, I am going to try and see what happens.

It'll cost me nothing, I have a lovely yet useless dress (It is extremelly old...) and I also have a bunch of fabric (4 meters of black fabric and 4 meters of black and white stripes one) that I used for some photo sessions...

Here I go... If the results are good enough, you will see them here for sure!

I've started with the christmas/winter decorations already.
I saw these little snowmen who looked like they had melted last year at a craft fair here, and i thought they were cute.
I believe the ones i saw were made of fleece, though i took the cheap felt route.

Thank you lack of social life for spurring creativity.
Shit for Ebay, as I'm not a fan of purses. )

i was bored, waiting for my boyfriend to call so we could go out to dinner, and then i found out he was at hooter's with his buddies...grr...but anyway, me being in a fit of hunger and angst resulted in a new choker. the majority of it is beaded, but i put satin ribbons on the end so i can tie it in a knot in the back or in a bow on the side, like this:

here's a detail of the beading:
