I got some glass votive holders from A.C. Moore for $0.24 a piece.
I also got some acrylic paint for $0.25 a piece.
Can I use acrylic paint on glass? And will it stay?
Also if I were to burn candles in the holders, would it screw the paint up?

Have you ever been to the rainforest cafe? well, I just went today. I don't know if it's like this in every one, but their tables are awesome! they're, like, tropical and rainforest and safari print and really shiny and smooth. i looked closely, and I could tell it was fabric. and fabric would be easy to find. but i'm wondering how they got it to be so shiny? it was nice and thick and smooth. any ideas? I thought it might be enamel or something, on while you were out they tried to make an enamel table but it was different, and it didn't work out.
So, anyone know how this could be done? i have a spare ugly table that needs fixin up!

Okay, so my Hogwarts daydreams have reached fever pitch and I've decided I need a Ravenclaw scarf to accompany them. I found the most wonderful tutorial here, the girl is an absolute legend and is happy to share her pattern even though she's selling the things. However, I'm something of a knitting newbie, so I still have some questions.

Any advice would earn much luff! )

TR?

I was looking at a scarf pattern and it requires a tr stitch. So I looked up in my book or croceting and it doesn't have tr listed, but it does have dtr or Double Treble stitch. So I'm assuming that tr is just treble, but my book doesn't even show me how to do a Double Treble, let alone a Treble.

Does anyone know where I could find a tutorial on this, or how to describe it really well?

I have some pots that I have been making and I need them to be fired in an oven...Should I find someone to do that for me, or should I try it on my own? It's something I've never done...

I have to have a journal for my Health class, one of those composition books, and I was thinking of ways to personalize the cover. Gluing fabric to it or something....

I've decided to collage it with magazine clippings but I don't know what to use to adhere the clippings to the book. What would be the best "glue?"

Thanks in advance.

edit-5:12pm: Since I don't really have the time, or energy to go to a craft store and get some decopage medium, is there anything I could find at a drug store like rite aid to adhere the clippings to the journal? I think I'm going to just glue them and then cover the journal with clear adhesive paper. Would rubber cement work? Can you tell I'm a craft virgin?

I am sewing a skirt from a mardi gras teeshirt of mine.

The design is on the back, so i wanted to add something to the front to make it more interesting, and I was thinking of adding ric rac down it, with the ends dangling off..

How would I sew ric rac on, as its all zigzaggy and whatnot?

Hey All!
I REALLY REALLY want to knit some leg warmers for this fall/winter to wear with my school uniform. I checked the memories and found the one on legwarmers, but I was wondering if anyone had anyother online patterns, or any tips/advice/experience related to knittin legwarmers. I'll be using circular needles, if that's important. Oh and one last thing, has anyone actually knitted legwarmers?

hey guys, first time poster... uh, short time reader! haha.

anyways, this might seem like a really stupid question but i was wondering if it's really unsafe to heat dried acrylic paint. i'm playing with melty records and i wanted to paint them before i melted them. but i don't want this project to blow up my oven or make me pass out from horrible fumes. i read the labels on the bottles and there weren't any dire warnings, so maybe it's okay?

thanks for any help!

yep. this is what happens when one is armed with extra free time and mod podge. the pic came from a club flyer, and yes, those are candy wrappers. i sprayed pained the bottom half of the box gold. i'm thinking of outlining the pic with some gold glitter glue as well...

No paint is used, blah blah, just clay and stuff, yay

can anyone offer any photography tips on losing the glare in the last piece?? I tried lighting from all different parts of the room, I adjusted everything I could and I still get a violent glare on anything rounded..

I spray painted my jeans. They're ok. they're pink now. I painted a belt too, but I layed the paint on too thick and its having a hell of a time drying and the belt just hates me overall.

My friend and I got fabric paint and hanes T-shirt and will be making best friend shirts soon.

also, I'm making her an altered book. any ideas/thoughts/shared advice welcome!

But my actual question is: is there something I could do with snapped jelly bracelets? I have some and they are sad and lonely and wish they had a purpose in life.

oh, and that girl who wanted to make guitar pick earrings? She's inspired me to make a necklace (no ear holes)

yes, im chatty today. :)

You all are so crafty, I'm envious. Anywho, I was wondering if it is possible to do a homemade spiral note book, and how i'm to go about doing it. I want to make a little sketchbook for someone. THANKS!

I make envelopes out of scrap paper/memory paper.
My problem is I have lots of left-over scraps.
Is there anything I can do with them?
Or does anyone want them?
I would hate to just throw them away.
