Hopscotch

When I was a child, somebody gave me an indoor/outdoor, folding, plastic (vinyl?) hopscotch game and I can't seem to find anything like this for my kids. I want to make one, but I'm not sure how I should accomplish this task without it looking terribly tacky. Markers on a sheet? :\

Suggestions?

I just wanted to invite any and everyone who makes homemade bath products..ie soaps, bath salts, salt scrubs, and homemade skin remedies etc, to check out our new [livejournal.com profile] bath_and_body community. Please join even if you are just obsessed with Bath Products and Skin Care. I just found this community recently and I think it is fantastic. So many great DIY ideas here. Also, if anyone has a Candle Making Business, Make-Up, Bath and Body, or even homemade gift items that could go with Bath Stuff, please feel free to Promote your Business there.

I just posted up a Salt Scrub Recipe Recently. If anyone has any other recipes for Salt Scrubs, please share them with me. I am trying to find new recipes because I am making more for Christmas gifts. I hope to see you at [livejournal.com profile] bath_and_body.

One of the unexpected bad things about the move from my apartment into a house is the amount of bugs that now appear inside.

There are so many moths and I'm concerned they're going to damage my clothes. So I thought I'd make some hanging sachet thingys to put in my closet but I don't know what to put in them that will prevent moths. Anyone know or have links?

I made a personalized etched glass frame as a gift for a wedding we went to this past weekend. This is one of my favorite gift to give for a special occasion such as this because it's really easy and personal and fairly inexpensive even though the finished product looks quite pricey :)

I have this blue table from ikea that I'm going to decorate with mod podge. I'm going to mod podge an image to each of the legs of the tables, probably pictures of models cut out from magazines and wrapped around the legs.

I'm weird like that.

I'll post pics when I'm done!

Piracy!

Inspired by the many pirate fashions viewed on here, I set out to do my own take on it. I'm not brave enough to cut up anything (and not that I had anything stripey anyway), but I found some striped fabric in one of my big $3 remnant bags I recent discovered, as well as just enough black fabric to add to the sleeves and hem plus Kwik Sew 3003. I dont own anything else like it and I'm seeing a pink handbag, shoes, and neck scarf to go with it!

Arrrr! x-posted everywhere! )

ok, so i'm out to make a t-shirt quilt. The only problem in the t-shirts. I really want to make a quilt kind of commemorating high school and all that stuff, so i'm asking for any help ya'll can give me...i need the t-shirts. If you ahve any old t-shirts from your high school, sports, or activities, i'd be willing to buy or trade for them. Especially if you have any band/marching band t-shirts--i would love to make a band blanket (uber nerd) But i'm doubting i can collect enough..maybe over the years... So e-mail me if you can help out!

Hello! I know this is probably the wrong place to post (so help from anyone is definitely appreciated...) but I could do with a little bit of talent sharing.

Are any of you mad-keen cartoonists? Or just good at creating characters? I need you to help me realise a pair of superheroes!

In return I will make you a bag or a pair of gloves or beautiful knitted armwarmers or whatever (we can talk about that...)

Again, if anyone knows anyone else who would be interested...please do contact me...(it's all in a good cause, honest!)

a few people expressed interest in the beaded choker i posted a few days ago...

in honor of the "no trading" rule, i've made a rather shabby but hopefully workable tutorial...if nothing else, it will exemplify why i am a photographer rather than an illustrator.

Transfers

I found this at Martha Stewart and would dearly like to try it, but I absolutely cannot find a Design Art marker, and I don't really want to go out of my way to do so. I've read mentioned something about blending markers being able to do transfers, but it was only a passing comment. I know these are made of rubbing alcohol, so would I be able to do a transfer like this with just say a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol?

Any other suggestions?

i made a hot pink satin tie! please don't ask me how i did it, since i screwed up the pattern royally, and ended up just sorta free-handing this. i used stitch witcher type-stuff, as i was too scared to apply my horrid sewing skills to satin. hence it look terrible from the back, but no one sees the back, so meh. (i know this makes me soound like a bad crafter, i'm not, i swear!)

i also made that headband in the pic today. it's reversible to a black and white striped fabric. it's hot as well.

here's a close up of the tie. pardon my boobs. )
