Do any of you who make stencils think I could make a stencil out of this?

Death from the Sandman comics

I have never made a stencil before but have read the tutorials on stencilrevolution.com. I want to make a shirt for my boyfriend. He already has one of this same design that he his loves more than me. But its over 11 years old and it about to die. Haven't been able to find another one for less than 50 dollars. That is to damn much. Plus if he ever knew I paid that much, he would 1.) Be mad and 2.) Not ever wear it.

Plus, do I just use fabric paint? Is there like a clear coat I need??? First time for everything I guess. It doesn't have to be perfect.

I've been lurking about for a while, and I decided today I would finally post some of the things I've made. I have to admit, you all are very talented and definitely an inspiration. The pics are of a shelf I painted for my mom, my cat Basil and a furry green box I made for my hubby and a scarf I've started recently. I'm sorry about the poor picture quality, my camera isn't great.

I was in Pottery Barn this afternoon and found this awesome ornament that I want to make. Unfortunately, it's not in the online catalog, so I don't have a picture.

How do I make it? )

Does anyone know the proper dilution for bleach to make it safe to "paint" with it on fabric? Also, what do you do when you need to wash it? Will everything turn out ok?

i remembered prismacolor "clear blender" markers mentioned here before, so on impulse i bought one...but now i dont know what i can do with it! i think i remember there being something about transferring images, so does anyone know what thats about? or just anything else it could possibly do!

I need to start buying mini pony beads in bulk.
I'd like it if I could pick out the colors I need instead of buying mixed packages.
Does anyone know where I can find them...either online or in the stores...for really cheap?
Thanks!!

hey guys, i'm doing a demonstration speech in a couple of days on how to shop at a thrift store..i'm basically talking about the different kinds of vintage stores, what to look for, easy alterations (aka don't rule something out if it has ugly buttons, etc) and i wanted to include something about how to get rid of stains or musty old smells (i know you know what i'm talking about !) in the clothes.
sooo if you have any homemade solutions (like this much bleach, this much tide, blah blah blah) i would appericate if you could help me out !
<33 xoxo.
crossposted some places. sorry. ;(

Happy Halloween Everyone.

To kick off the start of this great community I want to have a contest. It's going to start off small because I'm testing to see if it works out. If it turns out well, I'm sure I'll put more money into it for prizes in the future months.

The first contest will be Halloween related of course. You will have until October the 31st of 2003 to submit your entries and the prize will be awarded in November. The first prize will be for 2 months paid live journal account. And all you have to do is submit a Halloween craft to this community and I will pick the best out of all. The prize will be a 2 months paid live journal account. This will be cross posted all over (sorry for the inconveniance).

Guidelines-
-Must be halloween related.
-Must be appropriate.
-Must be fun!!!!!!
-Must be entered before Oct 31st as a post in the craftiq community
-Subject heading must be "October Craft Contest - (type of craft here)"
-Ideas can only be submitted once. Different types of the same idea are welcome.

my friend taught me this strange thing in high school, and i think we did it in the fall, when the mushrooms were out in full force:

pick a bunch of mushrooms from outside. take off their stems and place them flat side down on a piece of paper in a nice arrangement. place a bowl or cup over them (preferably styrofoam?) for a couple days, and voila, the spores come out and make pretty art. it's cool to do it twice, so you have some images overlapping. and they'll come out in white and browns and be very pretty.

my only problem was that they were basically like super smudgy chalk and you couldn't touch em. that and i was scared of mushrooms like i am scared of sandollars.
