squee1973.livejournal.comI used to work for our local Animal Shelter, and, I still like to do little things, on a voluntary basis, to help out....anyway, around the holidays, they usually set up gift wrapping tables, and, I was thinking of making some ornaments for them to sell this year, and some little gift bags for pets........I checked the faq, but there were only 3 posts for pet-related crafts, so, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of little things I could make, to have sold at the tables?
And, just so this isn't a 'Help Me!' post, I did come up with one idea for little ornaments: I bought a container of little, clear, acorn-shaped ornaments at Wal-Mart and had the intentions on cutting out some tin cat/dog shapes to suspend inside of them, with fishing wire, but, when I tried it I discovered that the opening was WAY too tiny.....and then my eyes happened to fall on one of the fortunes, from a fortune cookie, I'd been hoarding for a pocket shrine project...and, with a bit of trimming, poking..and prodding, I got it to fit inside and readable--So, I'm going to fill a bowl with 'fortune acorns' for sale!...cool thing is, you could make your own fortunes, by hand or on the computer, to print out and put inside and either decorate a tree/wreath, or, use as a package topper!
Thanks, for any suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated! :)
