If you missed it, I posted an informal survey last weekend. If you haven't added your two cents, I'd appreciate it!

Hey craftgrrls so this year my birthday falls on Chinese New Year (January 22nd), and I'm throwing a Chinese New Year themed party. Any ideas for decorations/food/beverages/whatever along that theme?

I'm already thinking something cool with fortune cookies, chopsticks, oranges, dragons, and the color red.

Thanks!

Ok, so it looks like VillagePhotos IS indeed evil and wouldn't show anything but random occurences and red x's. I'm trying a new host, Photopic.

So, again, for those that couldn't see them.....here are a few painings my hubby and i did for Xmas gifts.
He did The Beatles ones for his mom and i did the Eddie Izzard on for his cousin.

Yawn! Hello fellow crafty ladies. I am looking to make an eye pillow/sachet type thing. I remember somebody posting a pattern and some info within the past few months, but after searching the memories and calendar page by month, for about 30 min. I can't seem to find it.

Can anyone offer any advice on these? I have bought the following materials: dried lavendar, fabric, some seeds to put inside or I may use dry rice (I could not find flaxseed at the store), ribbon to decorate it. Thanks a bunch. So far, I've found this DIY page on it, and this page . :) thanks all.

I got a gift certificate to Michaels for my birthday, and instead of buying yarn like I usually do, I decided to try something new...

I saw this girl the other day with a skirt made out of men's ties and it was REALLY awesome looking. Now...I am not that crafty when it comes to sewing. At all. In fact, I have never really made anything like that in my life.

But...I was wondering...do you think that a skirt made out of ties would be that hard? I don't know. I would LOVE to make one hehe.

erm...nevermind, i'm editing this post to ask a different question.

i have an image (plain black) that i want to put on a tan t-shirt. i can't stencil it (that was my original idea, but it's way too detailed) and the iron on transfers i have (both dark and light) end up with a white background, when i want the tan tshirt to be the background. so...any suggestions? =c \

what are some good, preferrably two word phrases that can go on a pair of shoes...
ie:
heinz 57
kiss my grits

i've already checked out the tshirt sayings at tshirt surgery and glitter...

I need to paint a baribe doll, Ive seen the beautiful dolls some people have made on here and was wondering, do you need to prime the dolls before you paint them or if not, what kind of paint will work on the doll?

Also i need to dye the hair also, any ideas on that? Im guessing barbie hair is nylon, will it dye?

*incase anyone would like to know...here in lies my methods, but others may do it differently*

So ya want to give old Bab's a makeover? The following works on most of today's "fashion dolls."
I'm going to focus in on the repaint with this post, as hair styling, body sculpting, and wings/ears can have their own post.

There is a leadership conference at my school every year, and with about 3 days left to prepare, we were just asked to do a presentation on stress.

now all of this is fine, but I would really like to have something fun and different in our presentation. We thought about making stress balls, but I think that's a little messy, and sort of overdone...

can anyone think of any small craft (or activity!) that is stress-related-ish that we could do with the students attending the conference?

eep!
thanks.
