anglican rosaries

i made these today after seeing an article in a bead magazine about the prayer beads on this site.

i missed a large bead on the chaplet (the small one), but that's ok because i don't adhere exactly to the way they're meant to be used.
they're strung on tigertail.

if it is...direct me somewhere that it might be... uh. better answered?

bones. and horn. and antler. anyone do any crafts relating to them? i do. painting on them and such. paintings of them, kind of georgia o'keefe style. drawings of them. just general looking at them. i love them. currently im attempting to make plugs and things for my ears out of antler. 'attempting' im ending up with a bunch of 'horns' for sculpey unicorns.

but my question is, where do you find your skulls, bones, all that good jazz?
i dont really have a problem with cattle, i have an over abundance of cattle bits and pieces due to my aunts farm being surrounded by cattle farms. but it takes effort. no problem with that.

im just tired of cattle bits. id really love equine bones. horse, donkey, mule, zebra. i just...have no idea where to find them. i could buy them of course, but most places theyre around 100, and... i can never just buy one of something neat like that.

if this is..totally unrelated, ignore, delete. but please try to help if you can, or direct me towards a community that could.
the community search is...wonky at best.

thanks! pictures of...stuff... when possible. till thenk. old link - only two bone pieces. a steer skull, and that same steers shoulder blade. i should really get better pictures. theyre...totally unscannable.

most of that stuff has when it was done on it. im 18 now, 19 in march. most of that was done through out high school. which i graduated from last june. i've gone through a semester of college, as an art major.
and now ive..promptly dropped that.

yeah. enough rambling. =D

I am looking for one to buy, but the michaels always seems to be out of them (I have gone to 2 several times over the last 4 months)

does anyone know where I can get one online? or a good brand that I can search for my self?

thanks

I know its cheesy to have a "special song" with someone, but with V-day approaching, what is a cool way I could turn the lyrics into a gift? I want to write them on something, or decoupage them on something, but not sure exactly on what.

I bought this wood picture frame at the craft store for a buck. My friend's fave color is green and she has an obsession with eyes so I painted it green with my crummy poster paint (because it's the only paint I have), covered it all with modpodge so it would be nice and shiney, glued a bunch of eyes cut out of catalogs onto about a hundred of those halved marbles, glued them all over the front of the frame and then decopauged a bunch of cut out eyes onto the back.

Does anyone know where I can find an image of the biohazard symbol so I can use it as a stencil? The one we have at the university is like an inch tall and I loose all the uniformity of the design when I try to get it larger (by hand or copy)
Thanks a lot

I made this wallet last night... I Got the idea from this post
http://www.livejournal.com/community/craftgrrl/2875524.html#cutid1
I think it turned out pretty good... I just wish I would have had something better than packing tape to make it.. but it's not that bad... It can hold a few bills, 3 cards and has a little pouch for change. Sorry about the quality of the pics.. all I have is a webcam.

Cute idea, but pricey for $88. It looks like a bunch of separate i-cords? Now I have a project with my knitting spool! hooray!

*Just Finished my First custom ordered purse*

It is Dark green (looks black in the pictures) and light pink. It's also fully reversible and the flower is a pin so it can be used anywhere.

tell me what you think :)

I checked the FAQ but can't quite see what I'm looking for. Polaroid transfers are great -- I've been meaning to do them, but don't have the money right now to buy the film and land camera needed. Anyway though, I was wondering though if there was another way to do a more direct transfer -- either with the polaroids I have now, or with photos I already have, magazines, etc? Isn't there a way I could, I don't know, rub the ink from one paper to another paper elsewhere to have a reversed image? I thought I read something about it here a long time ago.. nail polish remover perhaps? I can't remember. My thinking's so fuzzy right now.

Another one of the xmas gifts I had made but never got around to posting. It's just an altoids tin that I decopauged some grass patterned paper (from the scrapbook store) onto to hold the soccer marble magnets that I made for my boyfriend.

I know that the standard craft project for an earring holder involves film strips and frames, but are there any other ideas? I'm hoping for something that might fit on the inside of my medicine cabinet.

My current sketchbook is close to being full, so I decided to make myself a new one. It's nothing special, but it's decent and it will hold all the paper together.

And voila, I have a new sketchbook.

I figured that there have to be other cross-stitchers here so I am sharing! :)

I finally finished my first knit hat. I didn't use a pattern. I like to wing it.
WHEW knitting takes me SO MUCH more time than crochet. It has a distinct look, however, that I'm happy to have learned.

Off to spin!

Ookay, question for all... I made this shirt out of a skirt. I havent done much to it other than bring it in on the sides. I was going to shorten it a few inches at the bottom but it's still pretty plain. I'm sewing it by hand so if you have some simple ideas to make it a little more exciting that would be great. Thanks a ton!
