There's a magic substance out there in the world somewhere, but I don't know what it's called or where to find it and I want it.

It is a rubbery kind of stuff that sticks credit cards to paper or cardstock, advertisements to the cover of phone books and those are the main ways I've seen it used.

The cards and ads come cleanly away from it and it can be pulled off the surface of whatever it's put on. When you pull it off it is kind of stretchy and looks like a booger.

I want some, but I don't know what I should be asking for. The closest thing I've seen to it are Glue Dots, but those look like they are for permanent attachments.

All ideas, musings, etc. are extremely welcome. Thanks!

this is a prototype i made tonight. i make and sell kitten hats made of fleece. these are wings made of fleece. iddle biddle fuzzy cartoony wings.

i'm thinking about making some of these to take to APE next week. how much do you think people would pay for them?

keep in mind that people have expendable cash at comic cons, and that people will buy anything (and pay too much for it.)

I had two things:

1. I got myself a bottle and jar cutter at Micheal's (with a 40% coupon! Wee!), and then promptly brought it home and tried it on some Henry Winehart's rootbeer bottles, and one of those Sobe Juice bottles. I didn't find it that easy. I got one half a bottle after many many failures. I am not sure if my Henry Winehart bottles are too thin, or if it's just a really tetchy process. The one good bottle cut on the Sobe bottle I got wasn't a good clean straight edge, and will now become a paint water cup. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any tips to make it work better?

2. I always search for craft info, and usually use Google. Lately I have been looking things up on Vivisimo because it folders the results in subcategories. I have been finding some pretty cool info and I thought I share that it's real useful. Like here is a google result for "drop spindle", and here is Vivisimo's "drop spindle" results. I figured you crafty folk might like it, so I thought I would share.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a "ballpark" figure on how much "fake hair" kinds of things go for?
I am making my own "fake hair" barrettees and was wondering what to charge for them... PLEASE keep in mind that these are not "falls" or anything like them - these creations are unique "odd clips"' meaning that I am not trying to "copy" anything I've seen before, but trying to make something completely different.
here's a "practice page" with a pic of four of them.. they're about sixteen inches long..

Any help would be most appreciated!

i asked a question about a monogram font the other day, so here's what i did with it! other than the fact that i hate the way C's look compared to cool letters like K, it turned out great.

basically i saw this at old navy and was like, i can SOOOO do that.

for a friend for valentines...haha my boyfriend isn't even getting this.

Alright girls time to put your craftiness to work for me. I'm writing an article for a class about how to save money on Valentines Day by making things instead of buying. I'm going to search through the posts to find some good ones, but if you wanted to let me know of some that would be great.

What I'm really looking for is why you think getting a home made gift is better than a store bought gift.
What are the reasons you make things for people instead of buying them?
What was the best V-Day home made gift you ever gave/received?

Please include your name, age, and location with your comment.

Thanks!!!

I'd like to cover decoupaged things with clear crackle-looking sealer. Does anyone know if there's such a thing? Most crackles I've found need to be applied on top of acrylic paint. I don't want to use acrylic paint on top of the crackle (or underneath)-- i just want a clear crackled look on top of the decoupage. Would a layer of modpodge act as "acrylic" to go underneath the crackle??

Thanks!

So I started making a scarf with orange and hot pink yarn. And I was using blue needles and wearing jeans. My eyes were killing me after an hour. SO here's what I did: I spray painted my needles red. And I'm wearing red. I can still see the orange, but it doesn't strain my eyes. I think I'm going to do this every time I make a new scarf.

Does any know where i could order some nice embroidery kits? The kits with the floss and patterns and everything included

I'm looking for baby things, like sheet and pillow sets, bibs, you know, that kind of stuff.

They have some cross stitch things at walmart, but quite frankly they're all tacky, and I really need something more fabulous.

Thanks :)
