I make a lot of jewelry...and I plan on selling it soon at the flea market...this summer hopefully.
Anyways my problem was I had no way to mark how much each item was. I was using address labels, the kind that come 80 to a sheet, but I found they came off too easily.
I was looking at the tags you can tie onto each piece, but I have close to 300 things to sell, so that would not be a vey cheap thing for me.
My question is...what would work best to make my own tags?
Scrapbook paper seems to flimsy...
Would cardstock work?
Does anyone have any experience with making their own tags?

And I would like to do something simple and basic to them to make them pretty..so people remember.
Should I make them in a variety of shapes?
I could use glitter and stickers..heh...I'm getting excited.
Any info or tips would be nice.
Thanks!!

My mother is looking for an impressive, but fairly easy project for her church group to make.

They need to make some kind of Easter favors to put on the trays of nursing home residents to commemorate the holiday. I can't seem to come up with anything except maybe stringing beads on some bendable wire and making crosses.

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't think it specifically has to be religious, ie. it could be rabbits and eggs and such.

Ideas?

My best friend and I get together every Sunday afternoon to craft. This winter, it's been primarily crocheting, with a bit of collaging and soap making thrown in. My husband has shown an interest in participating with us, for the social aspect as well as expressing his creativity. I have had a horrible time, however, finding a craft that is inexpensive and that I think he'll enjoy doing -- both with us, and on his own. He was in an accident a few years back that shattered his right arm, so that makes any repetitive motion (like crocheting) impossible for him.

Any ideas?

How would I go about making a pleated skirt?
Would a lot of ironing be involved?
Thanks in advance.

screen printing - help!

i got a screen printing kit for my birthday, and can't wait to try it out, but it's imported from the US, and all the things it recommends to clean it with are US products.

Can any UK people tell me what i can use to clean screen filler and drawing fluid?

Or can any US people tell me what the ingredients of Greased Lightning and Comet are?

Also, the frame is just raw wood. Is it a good idea to varnish it?

Thanks!

im still a beginner knitter but i have almost finished my first purse, its all out of my head with no pattern at all, and now im stuck..i dont really know how to go about doing the strap. ive seen some patterns saying that you should cast 100 something stitches, then knit a few rows, then cast off. but i want my strap to be really long, and im using very chunky yarn. so i dont really know what i should be doing. the casting on a lot wont work, because i will run out of room. i was thinking perhaps i would cast on about 7 stitches, then knit the length of what i wanted, then line it with some cotton fabric. i was hoping for it just to be a sturdy strap by itself, but i dont want it stretching any being down to my ankles. please give me any suggestions!

disclaimer: i checked the faq and went through all the embroidery links i could there

i'm looking for websites that have even just pictures of embroidery normally on .... vintage 60's (70's?) white shirts.... of really bright colourful (like not just pastels, lots of colours) flowers like pansies....do you know what i mean? KIND of like this and KINDA like this...err..maybe more like this

or at least a better way of describing it so i can google it.

or even an embroidery pattern. i saw one a couple months back at a thrift store and i never thought to buy it
