hi, does anyone know where i can get small flatbacked rhinestones (like the kind that are used for nail art) in bulk? i've seen a lot of places online, but they look sketchy and not to mention are way too expensive. so if anyone knows of a legit store where i can buy a ton of these please without paying an arm and leg let me know! it would be very much appreciated. (i'm in california if that helps any)

Question yall -

Is there any place I can buy bamboo handles for this purse I'm making?

I know I could go look in thrift stores, but it seems like whenever I'm actively searching for a specific thing, the Thrift Gods like to play with me and not let me find it until months after I've given up.

Can I buy them at Michael's or something? I haven't been there yet, but then again, I can't spend money till I get paid next week anyway...
Boo.

Can anyone tell me what the name of this plastic craft is and how to actually make it? I bought these plastic strips from a thrifstore for a 1.00 and want to make tacky 80's and 90's jewelry like so many used to. I believe the plastic has to be melted in some fasion, probably in the oven. Does anyone have any details for me?
This is what it looks like:

hey, chicas. i saw info in the faq about the problem with stockinette always curling up on itself, but i'm having a slightly different problem.

i'm knitting a long ribbed scarf (k5,p2). it wants to curl up in a tube. is there any way to get it to lay flat? i'm putting tassels/fringe on the ends, so can i maybe do the ends in a different stitch to help?

I need some advice. Everything I've seen on felting a knitted wool item (I'm making a bag - my first felting attempt) says to put it in a pillowcase and into the washing machine, then has some specific instructions on how long, how hot, what cycles to avoid, etc. I don't have a washing machine of my own, so I'd have to use the laundromat, and I'd have really limited control over temperature and cycles and things. Has anyone used a coin-operated washer to felt? How did it go?

I was thinking about just putting it in a sink full of warm/hot water and swooshing it around by hand - would that work?

So sink by hand vs. coin-operated washer. Please help. I'm excited about this bag and don't want to mess it up too badly.

Just so this isn't a completely needy post, here are some faux-minkmittens ) I made for a friend.

What is this clip part called? I want to make bondage pants but am having a hard time knowing the terminology for the hardware.

Let me know, Thanx.
Also if you know of a good place to buy these items let me know of that as well.
I already have purchased silver toned D rings...

I am trying to quit smoking by distracting my hands with cross stitching. Anyone else here ever tried a similar method, and if so, any success?

By the way, Hello, my name is Rachel, and I'm a craftaholic.

Attention all citizens of the tri-state area:
I'm interested in organizing a punk-rock flea market/craft show in central Jersey. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm hoping I can get help from others.

You can sell your crafty stuff, and shop for others crafty stuff. Think amazing, cheap, pre-sorted thrift shop meets young, hip punk-rockers. I'm hoping to get either a really cheap DJ or a few bands. Either way, I really don't want to have to spend any money on this, especially being that I only have 9 dollars.

So, is anyone interested in this? Has anyone been involved in something like this before, and can offer some useful bits of information? (Or any information at all!) Suggestions? Questions? (I don't know how much I can help with something like that, being that I just came up with this idea myself!!)

Whose interested in being a part of this? Send me an email (kaitlyn@one-thirty-seven.net) or AIM me (sundays xx best).

Thanks so much!!

My first non-stringing project!

I'm wearing this great yellow dress to my prom April 8th, and had been thinking of making a beaded flower to wear on it. All the instructions I saw were pretty complicated until I found one book from the 70s, I think, with easy instructions. Its a little smaller than I thought it would turn out, but its so cute! I think I'm going to wear it pinned on one side, right on the trim. Now I get to wear a wrist corsage AND a pin corsage. =p
