Has anyone ever used this button maker?  It was on crazy sale at toys r us and I thought I'd get it and try it out.  Do the buttons last?  Anything I should know before I make my own?

Much thanks :)

'been having lots of fun with those lazer jet printer iron-on transfers. All was well until I ironed a printout of my grapefruit photo (see my user pic) onto a green tee which was recently purchased from our local army navy surplus store (the owner must have been in the service because he folded the shirts just like my dad). The heat from the iron released the stench of deodorant- clearly not of the familiar health-food-store-tea-tree-oil variety. I neglected to wash it before leaving for Long Island, so here I am with my very favorite new tee shirt and smelling the stench of some strange soldier. Maybe I'll just imagine that he was a hottie and hope he didn't have anything contageous.

Yay for Photobucket! Ok, I'm all good on hosting now.....time for some pictures!

I made this about a week or two ago...

Apologies for the not so great pictures - still learning to use the digicam... Actually it's not too bad except the one picture makes the lining look blue-ish instead of lavender.
It's made out of some sort of black canvas like material (it might be canvas...it was a remnant, I don't really know), and the lining is a really pretty silky shiny lavender colored shirt that I couldn't wear anymore. the skull is a patch that I got from Sam Goody (I think...it was some music store in our mall). It's pretty much a totebag with a flap. I love it. :) I wish the strap could have been longer, but that was the longest material I had.

hi everyone - i'm getting on a plane in a few hours and i just realized that the airlines might not allow knitting needles on the plane. duh. has anyone had any experience bringing knitting, crochet, or regular sewing needles on a plane recently? am i stupid to even try? as far as i know, things they do not allow you to bring are confiscated and i'd like to not lose my work. thanks for your help.

some handmade books )

I've been having lots of fun making books. The 3 on the left are bound with a rubber band and a twig. The ones on the right and the little pear are pamphlets done with a butterfly stitch and the froot loops one is my first coptic bound book. Yay!
