Found a small white handbag while thrift shopping, and it was in dire need of a makeover. If I could do it again Id use fabric paints instead of acrylics, but I had a blast decorating it.

I want to make a tiara for grad (prom) to wear with my pale pink, strapless, A-Line gown... it has pearly beading spiralling down it, I thought a tiara would go with the princess theme but don't feel like paying $25+ for one since grad is expensive enough as it is. Any ideas for making my own? I was thinking something involving pearly beads and wire....

thanksies :)

Hi, Well. We’re throwing a wedding shower for my oldest sister in Aug, in Cape Cod, Ma.  And I guess it is going to be a beach type theme, my sister LOVES the beach. so, I am semi in charge of the decorations, so if you guys could please throw some ideas at me, it would be very appreciated…thank you.

I have a really large (about 8 by 6 feet) piece of batik fabric which I've owned for about 9 years now. In the past week, I've decided that I'd really like to figure out some way to either frame it or find stretcher bars to mount it on. Has anybody tried this with fabric? Other than large enough stretcher bars and probably a staple gun, what other supplies would I need?

I'm going to be graduating from college soon. The program I'm in groups students in cohorts, so for the past 2 years (junior and senior year), I've been with a group of the same 26 people. We've gotten to know each other quite well over the past 2 years together, and we'll soon all be parting ways.

Since the program is at an off-campus location and we meet in the evenings, we have a diverse group. There are both males and females, from ages 22 to 61 with the majority in the 30s and 40s. I'm on the younger end.

One of the classmates decided to give us a project before we graduate. Tonight in class, she passed out 26 sheets of paper to each student along with a class list. The pages each have a clipart graphic of a large lined notepad that takes up the whole page. On these pages, we are to write one letter to each student. She'll then group all of the letters to each person together, and we'll each get a book of letters to us. Does that make sense? Every student writes 26 letters, one to each person in the class. Then I'll get a book of 26 "Dear Rochelle" letters.

What I need creative help with is what to do for each of the 26 letters I need to write! The obvious answer would be to use colored markers and stickers. I'd like to do something more creative, but I'm not sure what. It could include words or not or anything. It doesn't even really have to be a letter. Each one just needs to be personalized for the person it's going to, and it has to stay flat so it can be put into a booklet.

I've got 2 weeks to get this done before I have to turn it in to be put into booklets. Heeeelp!

I'm hoping that there's someone out there who's worked with jewelry wire and metal that can answer this question... When flattening a piece of wire to harden it, the instructions often say to use a hammer and an anvil. While I have a hammer, I don't have an anvil, and I don't know if that type of thing is sold in hardware stores. I guess I'll check the next time I can, but has anyone used something else and had good results? I know it'll have to be something flat and hard enough to withstand hammering with metal, and won't break easily...

thanks!
