i've bought two eyelet punching/smushing tools already and i'm pretty disappointed. i bought one that looks like a single hole puncher, and i bought a simple one from walmart that's just a long cylinder (looks like a short pen) that you hammer....

the first tool didn't fit the eyelets well, and the second's hole maker wouldn't go through cardboard (are they supposed to?)

is there one GOOD quality brand or style that won't destroy 9 out of 10 eyelets? would a higher quality hole punch-looking style be better, or should i stick with a tool that punches out a hole first, and then you smush in an eyelet...

I'm going to be ambitious this summer and learn to work in resin so I can make a pendant for a cosplay costume I'm making. The pendant, just so you have an idea of what I'm going for, can be seen here, circled in red. I'm sure I can make the gold bits in sculpey as I'm quite good with the stuff, but it's the clearish pendant itself that gives me trouble.

Problem is, I know little to nothing about casting resin. I know that you can make a mold out of sculpey and that if you get clear resin you can paint it with acrylic and it will stay fairly transparent. That's about it.

Would Michael's craft stores carry it or will I need to take my search online to find the supplies I need? Actually, all I really need is a place to find the resin itself, for casting, and instructions on how to make it take shape (heat? or something else?). Any help or points in the right direction would be immensely helpful. Thanks!

... and hope it's okay to do so.

I'm on the Joann.com mailing list, and got a coupon for "40% off the regular price of any one item" in my email yesterday. It's valid between May 23rd and June 5th.

Soo.... I did a screen-capture. :)

There has got to be such a thing as a swiveling or spinning type hook thing.

In the picture below, I've illustrated what I'd like to do with such a hook.

If any of you guys know if such a thing exists, what it's called and where to get them, I'd love to know, too.

Thank you so much!!!

Is there a such thing as a reversible zipper? I have this fabric and i want to make a little purse out of it to hold my personal products and stuff... but i'm making it to match this revirsible bag i'm making out of bandanas. Ne ways, i want to make it reversible also, so when my bag is one color, the purse could be another. But i want to put a zipper on it. So i guesss i'm just asking if there is a zipper that has a the pull thing on one side and then when u flip it over, there is one on the other side to close it.

sorry... I tend to ramble incoherently...

Does anyone have any ideas how to make drawer handles and/or knobs. I was originally thinking about using a Fimo-type clay and just shoving a screw in the back of it and using a nut to hold it in place, but I'm not sure how child safe it is. I don't want it to break into tiny pieces. My other thoughts were either resin or the marble magnet concept but I'm not too sure how to execute that idea. I am totally lost when it comes to drawer handles. Any ideas?
