EDIT: I took out the pictures for security reasons. They're still in my journal, but are friends-only. If you would like to see them, comment and I'll add you. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I gotta do this.

We learned some things, doing this as a class: )

Really, I think this will go in my file as one of the best lessons I've ever done with a class. They're really having a blast.

I'll post more pictures as the rest of the projects get done if you're interested.

Does anyone have any nifty ideas for making birdhouses, birdfeeders, or some sort of planter? I'm thinking of using recycled goods/random objects. I'm moving, and the outside of the house needs perking up a bit, so a funky birdhouse may do the trick. :)

Anyone know of a place online that has basic clothes patterns for your standard 11 1/2 inch Barbie-type doll?

Sorry to bug you guys about the seatbelt stuff still, but I have another question. I don't know of any car places around here that would give me a belt and buckle and I'd feel really dumb asking for one, so where do you think I could find a cheap buckle? Do you think Goodwill or any store might have something? And wasn't someone on lj somewhere selling seatbelts?

I seem to be having a problem with my sewing machine...for some reason, about half way through a long period of sewing, the needle will hit the metal plate and break...leaving me completely screwed....

this was happening for a while, and i just realized what was going on...now how do I STOP this from happening?

Pleeeeeassse give me some suggestions, I'm in the middle of a very big pocketbook selling escapade.

Hi! This is my first time posting here. And it's also the first time I've sewn anything together. I think they all came out really good. My favorite is the rainbow one...I hand-sewed the letters of my name on. And I also sewed the hearts on the green and orange purse, too.

Hello my fellow crafties!

I've recently become a raw foodist, and have come to realize that my friends do not have knives well suited to preparing my food. When I visit I end up bringing my own, and wrapping it (a large cleaver that I use for opening coconuts) in a towel. While this works I'd like to have something more tailored and safe.

Other than leather (personal choice not to use this), does anyone have an idea what to make it out of? The knife is *very* sharp so it will have to be something that can take the slicing. Also, anyone have ideas on *how* to make it? I don't know much about knives and have never seen a "protector" like what I'm thinking about.

Thanks for any suggestions you have!

hey-hey! i went into a francy shop a few weeks ago with some friends and saw this one scarf made out of individually crocheted flowers that was $180 (yikes!!) and decided to copy it. )

i think i'm going to add some small beads so that there's a bit more to it. some sparkle.

ah... and i hit the estate sales last weekend and scored loooooads of yarn ) for a buck a skein. it was marrrrrvelous.
