I have been watching all the awesome crafts in here. I am finally brave enough to post my own. They aren't the greatest and they were super simple to make but my boyfriend adores them! So.. onto the picture.....

Well, I hope everyone had a good Pi Approximation Day. I figured, what better way to celebrate a pointless math holiday than with handmade greeting cards?

I have some crayons I want to make into a candle.

But I didn't want to melt down each color seperately.

If I put all of them in a row in a tin, will they melt together into one mess or will the colors slightly blend but basically hold their place?

hey chickadees! well, i just tore every page out of about 30 or so old magazines i have. i know got a huge stack of magazine pages and i was wondering if anybody had any ideas on what i can do with them. i plan on cutting out any pictures/designs i like and saving 'em for future collages. i'm also going to cut up strips and use 'em for making those chinese lucky stars, and for making paper beads. oh, and i was thinking of cutting out different sized squares and using 'em for origami. any other ideas or should i just toss the rest in the recycle bin? thanks in advance guys!

alrighty. so I am looking into getting a digital camera finally. I have so many crafts I want to upload and post, and just the fact that digital cameras are great to begin with. Now I don't really know much about digital cameras since I'm a photo dork who is extremely fond of her cute little ghetto 35mm camera. So if anyone could give me some models that they've used and really enjoy that'd be great....I'm not trying to break the bank though, since this might be (crosses fingers) my two year gift from my boyfriend....so pour on the advice. Thanks tons!!!

Alright, I've been lurking 'round the comments in this community for a bit now, since I found it on a friend's LJ. Very impressed with all the things people are making and it's just giving me more and more ideas.

Here is something I did a while ago. It's a goodwill table, some paint, and a pin-up girl I printed off the web. I've actually got another one my girlfriend did in a completely different style and a pretty snazzy martini glass decorated dining room table.

This is the only one I have pictures of right now. Shh, don't tell my girlfriend I showed you, she's deathly afraid of people making things similar to the cool things we've made. ;)

Readymade magazine, the goddess of the published DIY world, had this lovely little idea of making bags out of plastic grocery bags. And so, as I always do when I bring home that magazine, I got crafty! I made a mail-carrier out of grocery bags... and it ended up something like this:

These pictures aren't the most flattering of it, and the bag is not the most amazing bag... But at least I have something to carry my swimsuit in that doesn't look like complete crap! And hey, it's a conversation piece. "yes, it's a bag of bags!"

So, I made this skirt a little while ago. It was going well until I got to the waistband, and then I just didn't know what I was doing, so I made it up. I think it could manage to still look somewhat nice and neat had I not been too lazy to change the thread in my sewing machine from pink to white.

the skirt, odd camera angle included. )

I've sorta started a new hobby.. PenPals! With snail mail, naturally. I have been thinking about stuff to buy to make letters personal and cute, and so far I've only thought of buying some cute stationary and some stickers. I was wondering if you had any good ideas on how to make a handwritten letter extra nice. After all, you people really have a nack for things of this nature.

Sincerely,

Hello all of my crafty friends.

I browse the craftgrrl journal every day, but I am more of a browser than a poster. But considering it is raining today, I shall make a crafty post.

Has anyone actually ever made earring out of buttons (the kind you sew on your clothes, not badges)
I have some flat panel earring backs and some old buttons but im not sure how to make the buttons flat - The cutest ones dont have holes in the front but a little hoop you sew through, has anyone ever broken the backs off buttons if so how?

Help?

I am really frustrated. I am trying to find the 2 posts that were about the paint chip wallets. Someone posted a link first to an off site webpage that had the original wallet. I am pretty sure someone then posted afterwords about their attempt to make said wallet.

I have searched the memories, googled this community, gone back in the archives and I cannot find either of those posts. Anyone have any idea what I am talking about? Or point me in the direction of where that original site was? I think it was Ready Made magazine but I checked there too.

Grrr. I am all ready but dont quite remeber what the finished project looked like. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hello again everyone (my second post, hooray!),

My friend and I are really low on money, but really love these shoes. Do you think there could be any way to buy a pair of shoes at good will and spray paint them, and somehow add glitter?

What material of shoe would be best for this kind of thing, and would there be any better way to do this? Please give us all your ideas! ;D

Thanks so much in advance!

Ok, so my friend gave me her cd stand because she's moving and doesnt really listen to music anyways. Um, she had a big blue rope light wrapped around it and left it on when she gave it to me so I took that off and prettied it up with some beads and hemp string.
