Much thanks to everyone who gave me ideas for dying thread here. I decided to get a mini starter set of Dye-na-flow silk paint from Dharma Trading. The colors in the set all look beautiful and bright, which is what I was looking for. According to the site, it should work pretty well for what I want to do.

Of course, I will have pictures of the finished product along with a review!

I've been wanting to do this project for over a year, ever since I saw the instructions in a library book on Pennsyvania Dutch designs. This particular design is a hex symbol. I really like the geometry of the piece, but the most challenging part was painting straight lines (I couldn't do it free-hand so had to use painter's tape) and the final antiquing process.

So i just got hired at Olive Garden, and we have to wear these buttons that display the words "Hospitaliano" and our names on them. Thing is, they're allowing us creative freedom with whatever we want to do to them, as long as they say the two aforementioned things on them. I can paint the whole thing, and then write in my name and "Hospitaliano" afterwards.

SOOoooo, I need ideas on what to do to this button. Decoupage, painting...etc?

I need suggestions!!

My cousin and I are throwing a harvest moon party for a couple that is getting married. It's and engagement party but we don't want people coming in costumes. We thought we would set up a table with those little eye mask for people to wear. We want to decorate one for the bride and groom. The bride's eye mask we thought would be white and have lace and beads but we were drawing a blank for the groom's. I thought maybe about getting a black one and then making a v shape in the forehead area and coloring it in white.(tuxedo) Do you girls have any better ideas on that? Thanks in advance!

I have a project due next week for biology. I have to make a timeline of every year of my life and write down a major event in my life that happened. Then write a scientific event that happened that year. That part I'm fine with. But I don't just want to make the same boring timeline as everyone else. I plan on using tons of pictures but does anyone have any fun ideas on how I could do this?

I'm at a loss! I'm going to be in a craft fair this fall and I need to make some labels (the sticky kind) for some of my stuff. I haven't a clue where to look first, what would be the best product to use and which will allow for some creativity! Has anyone here any experience to share? Pointers to websites, products and what have you? It would be much appreciated ^_^ Many thanks in advance

Well, I am having my 1 year anniversary this weekend, and am stumped as to how I can wrap:
a treasure box here
a book
A Happy Tree Friends Doll
and some cookies
Without putting it all in some huge, unpersonal bag, and having them together for the most part :/

I was going to try and alter one, but what kind of crafty things could I do to accomplish that and to make a crafty card? I have no experience with cards but was thinking along the lines of covering vellum (as clear as I can get it) with bright pieces of tissue paper, to make it all colorful, but would that work?

Thanks again

So Saturday night I finally got around to finishing this skirt that I started last week. It is SOOOO hot, and I wanted to share it with you all. It was inspired by a skirt that I saw at Express a few months ago that I couldn't afford to buy.

I got the material at Wal-Mart for $1 a yard. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it when I bought it, but I knew that it would become something amazing!

So, without further ado...

Winter Projects:
I thought I'd just throw this post out and see if any of you have "Winter Projects" you'll be doing.

For example, I live in Ohio, and we get some pretty crappy weather around here. Sometimes on the weekends, it's just safer to stay inside and do something. My dad is into woodworking, so he'll be doing that, and my mom is into stained glass so she'll be doing that
I've gotten into lots of things lately; ATC's, paper crafts, jewelry making, beading, making soap, making candles, counted cross stitch, etc. I'm looking for something new to do that will keep my interest as well as be cheap and easy to do. Personally, I was thinking about crocheting.

Crocheting:
My local library is starting a class at the end of September, and we'll be making a hat and gloves for our local Helpline, to donate to those persons in need. So far I've just bought 1 crochet hook, size H, and I have just enough yarn for the project. I've looked online for printable projets, but everything seems so complicated! Right now I'm at the step of knowing how to do a chain, but nothing else. What do you suggest I try? Do you know of any simple and easy projects with print out tutorials/instructions?

Thanks so much for listening to reading my rambling little post! xo.Katy

This just came to me, so I thought I'd post again *grins*

I have a bunch of little tarot cards that I got out of a magazine, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what I could do with them. Something interesting, as you guys are obviously very good at. Thanks!
