I stumbled across this while avoiding homework, and thought lovingly of you (collectively).

I could totally make it but I have enough bag things at the moment. Feel free, boys and girls.

I took a silk-screening class at Peach Berserk and it was awesome! It's $150 but you get a screen that's 22" x 22", you can print for as long as you want after the class is done, and you get a free t-shirt plus 2 yards of fabric.

Here's what I came up with:

Step inside, this way please... )

crocheted some random handbags.. tossed 'em in a hot wash cycle a few times and then added some embellishments.

i have a little bag of scrap carded wool, so i needle felted on some random shapes. i had intended this one to be a big tree, but it ended up looking like entwined brains.

two more. )

Hi, I'm looking for a (preferably) upholstery weight fabric with some sort of (relatively tasteful?) crown motif. I'd like it to be almost brocade like. Has anyone ever seen anything like that either online or in a store? It's to make a present for someone I work with that is obsessed with crowns. Money isn't a big object either. I'm planning on having to spend $50/yard for it.

Thanks!

i know i've read something about attaching paper to painted walls previously, and i believe it was in this community but i wasn't able to find it in the memories. my boyfriend and i would like to hang these [after they're all cut out + line up as one complete image] on the painted walls of our apartment. our concern is attaching it so that it won't destroy the walls. we were thinking about attaching the pages to something [posterboard, foamcore, etc] before hanging it but aren't sure what would be best/easiest. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ideas?

So I made an interesting discovery yesterday while sifting through my mother's storage drawers. I want to do something crafty with it, but I'm at a loss. I was thinking a purse, but there really isn't a lot of fabric.
Help?

On my honor, I will try... )

Thanks in advance for the help.

hello :)
i rarely post in here, but i am always reading and thinking of fabulous stuff i could make if i only had the time. so anyways, one of my friends is pregnant and due in early/mid january. i had the idea of knitting a bunch of squares in different colors and then stitching them all together into a sort of quilt for her for christmas.

my question is this, what type of stitch is good for blankets? basic knit stitch? knit 1 purl 1? knit 2 purl 2? something fancy? i have no idea. also is there some specific kind of yarn thats good for baby stuff? i dont want it to be all itchy...

thanks so much!

When making a basic quilt, is it okay just to use fleece as the backing, instead of having to use batting?

Also, what are good measurements? I'm making this for my 17 year old boyfriend, so it needs to be big enough to cover him, but nothing too huge. I plan on just doing basic squares, so how many by how many should I make it?

Okay, I need help! I just was invited to a Halloween Party(costume party). I decided what I wanted ti be, a pirate, hehe. Like a sexy kind of one though night all grundgy like. I can't decide what to do for my costume though. i was thinking maybe a Camisole-type/corset-type top like this one http://www.torrid.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&RN=310&ITEM=557490 and maybe like a black skirt, fishnets then some maryjane type shoes. I just need help! Ahh! The party is on the 24th so I have to figure out what I need to get! Thanks in advance guys!

It's a really good Indian-ish restaurant near Harvard. Anyway, they have the most awesome tables...they have glass tops, and underneath are partitioned compartments with pinto beans, lentils, spices, filling the partitions to the brim.

It looks really shique and I was wondering if anyone had a picture of a table like that or knew how to make one. Thank you!

Hiya! I'm new and I've been watching this community for some time and finally decided to stop being lazy and join. :) I am a poor, poor, starving little college taco out here in Florida and I have 2 birthdays coming up for my little brothers. I want to send them each a huge candy letter on a big posterboard and I needed clever ideas on how to use the names of the candy bars in the letter. Things like "Happy Birthday - To me, you're worth -100 Grand-!" - and then insert the candybar thusly. You guys are brilliant! Thanks!

It has been awhile since I have posted anything in here. I have been crafting just too busy to show it all off! =o/

I wanted to share these two things that I can hardly wait to make!

The first is a Topsy-Turvey doll I found here:
http://www.anniems.com/goodbadtopsydoll.jpg

I used to love these as a kid!

topsy-turvey witch and princess

The second is a link to really cute stuffed kitty that looks just like my fat cat! I could not get a good picture off the site but here is a link:

They have a ton more really great tutorials! Go check it out!

Happy crafting!

p.s. I also made a bunch of these for my patio for Halloween!! ;o)
