I share my latest sculpting goodies. Done for FAX since [livejournal.com profile] rose_quoll was chosen and I needed artistic release in this time of mental exploding.

Behold, donut quolls!!

Rose: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11187132

Stephen: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11187185/

A pain and pleasure to sculpt. I put a new twist on my techniques with their design, and added a few little realistic touches with the fur texture and Rose's earrings. Real metal hoops which I made myself and fit into place. Yay for my crafty jewelers hands!

For those who are curious. Quolls are real animals. Australian marsupials in fact.

Back to mental exploding.

really just another product of boredom, extra tape and the history channel. but i think they turned out well enough to maybe make some different versions. and its awfully nice to finish a project in 10 minutes rather than an hour or two!

this one rather accidentally ended up matching a bag. so if youre into coordinating like that...

Ok, I know I've been a Question Whore lately.. but..

Is there any SUPER easy pattern for a beanie? A touque is what we call them... in Canada..

I have NO idea how to read a crochet pattern, so it would have to be so so so simple..

THanks!

I used flashlight batteries and two colors of wire of similar gauge to make this necklace. I twisted the wires together, and punctuated it with lightbulbs twisted in to the pattern.

These pictures were taken a month or so ago, and the necklace has since changed: I wrapped electrical tape around the stretch of wire in direct contact with my neck, as the wire began to chafe.

So.. My dad was in surgery the other day. I whipped this up while in the waiting room. Needless to say I got alot of "what on earth is that?" questions *grin*
My brother is WAY in to spicy foods. I would have made a red pepper, but thease were the only colors I had with me.

Ok, I need your help. I bought this cigarrete holder on sale. I think it's made out of metal. I don't smoke but I want to use it as an ID holder or something like that. The problem is that I don't really like the cover. I think I can remove it and put something else on it. My question is would decoupage work on metal? or what else should I use instead. I am actually lost as to what I should put as a cover... if it should be a piece of paper like from a magazine? or maybe even a picture? Any ideas? and also what do you think is the best way to remove the glue that was holding the cover. That's more than one question, I know!

so my last enrty was deleted, and this one might be as well---i apologize for posting my website, i'm NOT trying to sell my stuff on here, but rather give folks a chance to see the jewelry i make and get feedback on the website and jewelry--NOT to sell. but i can't post the webaddress, so if you go to my user info, it can be linked from there. i would love any crafty feedback--i value your opinions, i'm NOT trying to sell anything.

thanks.

been meaning to post this for a while:
have you ever gone to a thrift store and found something you were dying to have but didn't get, and then the next day you went back and it was gone? a week or so ago, I found these INCREDIBLE men's navy blue twill pants with little yellow whales embroidered all over them, and I didn't get them. then I decided that the pants would make awesome fabric for change purse gifts, and when I went back they were gone! arrrrgh!

I was wondering if anybody can help me find a pattern for men's bathers. My friend wants a pair to subake in when he goes on holidays, so I said I'd make him a pair.

Currently, I'm planning on knitting a front and back panel with a bit extra for the crotch underneath. Any other ideas?

I'd really appreciate any help.

...there was none! I figured the first purse turned out so well, it could only get better right? Wrong!

Ambition can drive you dotty bonkers I say! I don't know if I will be working with vinyl again any time soon. Baby steps! Baby steps! I can't believe how frustrating it was to make this bag! It has so many mistakes. The stitching around the top is so uneven...I think I may get some red ribbon to cover that up cos I'm not putting it under the machine again. Enough purse surgery today. I have some black twill that I bought at Joann's. I think I may try again with that. But later. My fingers hurt from being stuck by all the pins!!!

Pics under here! )

I was searching for a photo of a stitch that I am madly in love with.  I saw it on a shawl a while back, and some people showed me stitches CLOSE to what it was, but not quite it... and then I forgot about it for a while, until there was a girl in class sitting in front of me with a hat made of this stitch, so now I've just got to know. Some people said it's made with a crazy daisy tool or something?  But I feel like there's got to be a way to do this by hand! I couldn't find photos of it, which is weird, since I've been seeing this stitch a lot lately..  It looks pretty much like this:

They are ALL loops.  None of these 'petal' type things are made with chains.  It's just loop after loop connected to more loops and more loops here and there, and I have tried a bunch of random things crocheting and just can't figure it out.  I'm going crazy, lol.

But also, I also found some other cool crochet things which I thought you guys might be interested in. :)

& this belly-dance hip scarf looks cool too! )

ANYWAY, thanks for any help, lol.  I hope someone knows! :)

This shirt is ...how shall i put it? HUGE!!! Also incredibly plain. So i need ideas on what to do. Also how would I go about making it smaller?

Also the 49ers shirt...how can I cut it to make it more interesting and etc.? (I dont like the 49ers, but most my family does and when we get together for 'games' I must 'Blend In'. Its also a bit big and I would like to make it smaller)

I went to Micheals today for shirt supplies but they had some pretty feathery stringy yarns on sale so i had to get theeem!! Ive only been knitting for like 2 weeks but I decided to start making a scarve out of one of my cool new yarns cuz im impatient.

follow the rainbow! )

hmm do you think tension control is AS BIG of a deal with this yarn as normal yarn? cuz if its off a little you cant really tell. I think so far I'm doing fine with it but iono. I was gonna give this to a friend but mum decided to claim it after I knitted the first 2 rows.
