I looked thru the FAQ and didn't see this, hope it's alright.

My friend used to buy pretty big silk screens and paint quite a few images on each screen. Whenever she would do one image only, she'd put a certain tape over the rest of the images so the paint wouldn't spill over. Does anybody have an idea what tape would stick and then not peel off the emulsion (this has happened to me before)?

Thanks!

Title: Tablecloth
Inspiration: The fabric - it doesn't really match our blue plates very well, but I have an orange and blue vision...
Reason: The book club was coming over for dinner and I had some time and some fabric available.
Comments: I found this fabric in San Francisco and I kept coming back to it inbetween petting a cat who apparently lived in the velvet section. I originally wanted to make placemats out of it, but the quick tablecloth ended up being more appealing in terms of time. This is the first tablecloth I have ever made - very simple - it is so fun to have this crazy pattern on the table!

Tablecloth!

Posting here because it was requested...

A pic of me in my Apocalypse Outfit! )

You've seen the goggles and the gas mask. I also made the Hello Kitty skirt. The pinkish black bit is a carved up bit of tshirt that I used the spray paint from the mask on. The tights were some that were destroyed by me sticking my fingers through them anyways. The pink eyebrow stuff really does stain the skin. I'll be doing some scrubbing this morning.

Yeah, I figured if anything survived the Apocalypse, Hello Kitty would.

Envelopes

I'm planning on making these invitations for the dinner rehearsal and I think I found the paper for the invitations already, right now I'm trying to find the envelope that goes with it. The envelope in the background is the type and color of envelope that I'm looking for. I need to find matte silver envelopes in 5 x 8 3/4, any suggestions on where I can find them?

It seems lately that everything that I want and need to make all the different invitations I'm planning on making for the wedding and the events to come just hasn't been an easy job. Having no patients or time due to school doesn't help either.

Hi Everyone!

I have a question:

My sister asked me to sew her two of those draft blocker thingys that you put along the door to keep out the cold air... and I have no problem making them...but I don't want to go out and buy the bean bag inside nonsense to fill them...(I will if that's all I can use...buuuut)

Is there any household stuff (Like beans..or rice or something?) that I can fill them with...and if you CAN use those sorts of things...will it attract bugs or rodents or anything?

haha Thanks a lot for the help!

as i firmly support all sorts of sundry rights - the right to paint your toenails 10 different colours, the right to mix stripes and polka dots, etc. i also adamantly support the right to dress like animals and wear fruits and vegetables on ones head. but since i have no vegetables to show off we have to get back to the animals:

single and half double crochets, cheap red heart yarn, h hook. no pattern i just sort winged (wung?) it.

i think this is my very first post in this community, although i've been a member for over a year.

i just finished making an area rug for my living room, and i'm super duper proud of it.

i even took pictures! )

Rat dishes

I bought my ratbabies some new fooddishes the other day. They're stoneware, and a lufferly purple colour. And I do love purple, but I'd love to liven them up a bit, and be able to tell the difference between the three dishes. Can anyone reccomend a safe paint to use on stoneware- with rodents and their health in mind? I don't think they'd chew the paint off exactly, but the brats astonish me every day with their destructiveness. Suggestions? I considered crossposting to ratties, but I've seen a few crafty rat owners in here.

Also! My dog has a metal bowl which I'd also love to spruce up. Is it possible?

Sorry this is text-only!

my friend's turning 21, and since we both live in north philly, i made her something to keep it fresh.

My daughter told me today that a friend of hers has one of those purses made out of Capri Sun pouches. We got to talking about fun purse ideas, and I remembered that I had seen a bag someplace on LJ that was made out of those clear plastic trading card protector pages full of fun cards. Of course since she collected Pokemon and Digimon cards in the past and has quite a few, she thought it was a cool idea and asked me to make her one for Christmas. And of course, now I have no idea where I read about it in the first place. I had a feeling it was posted here since a lot of the cooler stuff I see comes from you crafty grrls. I checked the memories sections on all the crafty communities that I read and can't find anything. Does anyone remember this or know where I can find it? If not, I can probably come up with something myself, but it'd definitely be easier if I could see what someone else had already done.
