I decided to be a fire faerie for Halloween. These pics aren't that great cuz they were taken in the hallway.

I made my Halloween Costume this year.  I called it Celtic Virgin Princess.  My mom and I sewed the dress together about two years ago for Halloween.  I love it so much I had to recycle it this year.  I restrung the mask with ribbon, and I made the floral headpiece with plastic-stemmed silk flowers from Joan's, ribbon, and floral tape.  I'm extremely happy with the way the headpiece came and and was thinking about making some more and trying to sell them.

On to the pictures )

Found these kitties through craftster.org

I took Italian (and can't really speak it) but the patterns look generally self explanitory.

In other news, I'm knitting a cargo net for my stuffed animals and now that Halloween costumes are done, I can finally start sewing stuff for myself from my exploding pattern collection.

This year it seems my boyfriend's pumpkin carving was heavily influenced by the movie Spiderman 2:

ok, i actually did NOT make the majority of this. the only thing i did was dye the shirt haha...So, I got the shirt for $6 (marked down from $45), wore a black skirt I already had, knee highs already had, shoes, wings from when i was 5. OH I MADE MY ANTENNAE OUT OF PIPE CLEANER THO!!

and as it turns out, acrylic/spandex blends do NOT like fabric dye. so after 3 hours of dying the shirt, i rinsed it, and all the dye came out!! so then i spent another like 2 hours fixing it. and it came out nicely. i just cant wash it. or i can, but it wont be yellow any more.

A couple years ago I was watching Nick at Nite and admiring Lily Munster's dress. I got the brilliant idea to be her for Halloween and started some sketches. Being a transient college student, without a sewing machine, it got put on the back burner for a couple of years. But now I live in a house, and, thanks to Mom, now have a sewing machine. So a few weeks ago I started the final preparations, and...voila!

I blended a couple patterns and modded a Freddie's corset that I had never really used anyway (to get the cinched waist without needing slim hips.) Of course, this pic was taken at work after I had tired of wearing the corset, but I haven't gotten any others uploaded yet. The bat necklace is Sculpey.

Better pictures to follow.

Sorry for the Text only post.....I have no camera as of yet. But i was wondering if any of you have any craft ideas that are “Guitar-y” For a boy. See my Boy LOVES Guitars and basically music in general. And i’ve already made a guitar case completely out of duct-tape(that actually looks like a guitar) for him, But i want to make something else. But i can’t think of what. See the first thing that came to my mind was a guitar pick necklace or jewelry of some sort, but He’s a boy and doesn't accessorize that much (LOL). So any ideas, pictures or sites that would inspire me, would be great. I Think i will probably paint a picture of his guitar on a shirt for him as well. So i shall post pictures when it is all done......I think it will be so cute to fill the case and give it as one big gift. Thanks You Guys and Gals.

stitches!

Okay, I finally got photos of the hat thing with the stitch I love. I haven't picked up one of those lazy-daisy "crazy daisy" tools yet, because it seems tedius to make tons of these and then stitch them together.. but I saw this hat, and it is at Target for about $12 or so, and I took photos of the stitch because I want to be able to use it to make something else like a scarf. So, either confirm that this is the lazy daisy stitch and tell me that I'll have to make a million and stitch them together nicely, or tell me if there is another way to make this:

Thanks! :)

Gotta love the sims )

i can't believe there isn't anything in the faq about this. or if there is i missed it.

if i want to paint a line-drawing onto a t-shirt (think coloring book type drawing), is there more out there than the just tulip squeeze bottles of fabric puffy paint that was available when i was 9?

edit: is there anything i can squeeze out of a tube that is less tacky than puffy paint?

ahoy! sperm whale )
