Alright, if this is in the wrong place, let me know, i'll delete it.
Anyway, i was wondering around Walmart today and noticed that they had these adorable knitted 'ballet' slippers. I've seen patterns for these and always assumed they would be uncomfortable since they'd be flimsy and slippery on the floor. But these had little stickys on the bottom of them. Anyone know of what i could use to put on the bottom of handknitted slippers to make them not slip? Also, what type of yarn would i use to make it more firm and not flimsy?
thanks :)

I was driving down the street last week when I saw this itty bitty sign for a CRAFT SHOW!!!!! Of course I swung that car around and went to it.
They had a lot of items that were nicely priced, some not so nicely priced, but that is how it goes eh?

One of my favorite was....they had taken green christmas light bulbs (much like these ones: http://www.giftsgaloreltd.com/gfx/themes/christmas_lights.jpg but green...heh) and they had painted and strung them.
Although...the wine glass charms gives me an amazing ideal.
Anyways...I thought SCORE as I had bought about 9 boxes of them last year after Christmas for about a nickel a piece. I love clearance sales.
Anyways...I am going to paint them. All I have is acrylic paint, I can't image that will matter though as they will not get plugged in or heated up or anything.
I am going to make some wine glass charms though as my mom found this box of amazing wine glasses by the dumpster the other day. She use to make fun of me for picking up stuff that was left at the side of the dumpster, now...like with the glasses...she gets so excited.

Well anyways...it might be something a little simple to hand out if you got it laying around.

Also..I plan on making some of the mason jar thingies...with cookie mixes and hot cocoa mixes in them and such. How simple and tasty eh?
There use to be a site with tags on them, but I forget what it is now.

Also. If I wanted to make jewelry out of gummy candies, what would I seal it with? With clear nail polish be okay, or do I neeg something more expensive? LOL.

Decoupage

I have an unfinnished wooden shelf that I'm thinking I want to decoupage. Should I stain it first or can I just go ahead and decoupage right on the unfinnished wood? I haven't decoupaged since I was about 8 so any help is appreciated!

I needed some crafting therapy this weekend. I made this elephant last night. She's made out of shantung silk. Then I made her a tiara today. :) She's my contribution to the month of softies project.

I made her after the Celtic Goddess Brigit. She is a gift for a friend of mine who recently got married. I hope she likes it!

So today me and my mom were going thru some of her old crafty things and I found this lil sandwhich bag full of material scraps. nothing good, nothing good, nothing good ... ... SCORE! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turttle's fabric, and 2 different designs. (copyrighted 1989, lol) The only problem is each sheet is a square of 4" by 4". Luckily each pattern has 2 sheets. So I was thinking of making them into change purses / small make up bags. Only problem is that I'm not a fantastic sewer and I've never really made anything.... so something super easy would be great. uhm, any suggestions? Or any other ideas for the fabric?

Does anyone know of a good place online, or off, to get business cards printed.  Everything that I've found online has full color options, which are lovely, but very busy for my tastes.  I want a logo, and then my info, and then a backside with some more information (a motto type dealy) on the back.  I hope this qualifies as crafty... maybe more arty than crafty, but still!  Thanks in advance for the help =)

This is my first embroidery project, inspired by you all of course ;) I have always enjoyed arts and crafts, but have been on a "dry spell" for a long time...that is until I joined this community and since spent 1/4th my paycheck on random art supplies o.o; I am starting a horde of random supplies! Here are the pics of the new nintendo belts, and the Ninja turtles pins I recycled. The ninja turtles pins were actually plastic rings that came out of cereal boxes 14 years ago, and shoe lace crimps. I snipped off the extra plastic and glued a pin backing on.
