i'm not a wallet person,
i put my money on coin purse, since all i have is loose change anyway.
but today i feel the need for a wallet
the kind that you can put bills and id's.
but i hate spending hard earned money for something that i can make on my own.

and that's how i acquire resourcefulness. :P )

quick question. you know that colorful light foam stuff that comes in sheets and shapes n is really fun?? whats hte best glue to use on that stuff??

I have a really nice pair of shoes, but they are brown. I really like them, but I think if they were black, I could wear them with more stuff.  I don't know EXACTLY what they are made of, but it's not real leather, but they look leathery. maybe a plastic of some sort.  The tag on the inside says "All Man Made Material"

If anyone knows how to paint them, or what to use to paint them, I would really appreciate some input.

So you're sitting in your math class BORED TO DEATH and then VOILA! you're uterus decides to give you a nice surprise. ever try explaining to your old and grody math teacher exactly WHY you need to take your backpack to the bathroom? (I swear i'm not trying to ditch, i SWEAR!) Or try to sliiide that tampon out of the pocket of your messenger bag into your pockets where it creates a nice bulge the shape of a long rod? i mean it'd be awesome if i had the ability to tell my teacher that my uterian walls are shedding and if i dont plug up my vagina NOW with some absorbant fiber products i will DIE but i really don't have the guts.

muhahahaha so i created this awesomefully asian (aZn?) tampon bag.

Could someone please help, I am making my 3rd ever hat only I don't understand what it means when it says "Basic Pattern for Cloche is 1 hdc in front loop only, 1 hdc in back loop only
(So, where pattern calls for two hdc in one stitch one hdc will be in the back loop and one will be in the front loop.)"
I promise to post pictures of my things as soon as I take pictures of them. THANKYOUSOMUCH. (the lack of spaces shows my greatfulness)

Me and the soda tab necklace I made. It took about 46 tabs to fit me. If you want a more close-up view, just ask.

EDIT: Another picture added.

I want to make my boyfriend a warm blankie for x-mas. I'd prefer for it to be an easy sewing project. I was thinking about making one of those pixel quilts of a scene from an old nintendo game, but that'll probably take too long to make. (*grumble* I should have started on this stuff earlier)

Any ideas for a semi-easy, warm blankie that isn't too girly? I looked through the memories but only found quilts...which isn't really what I want to do as I'm worried it will be too difficult to finish in time. This isn't going to be his only present so it doesn't have to be anything amazing. Something simple will do. :-)

Thanks girls. Hopefully, I'll figure out how to hook up my parent's digital camera so I can post some pictures of what I'm crafting for gifts.

thank you

So I made some something. <3 I love my rounded-corner punch! I finally picked one up while I was in town at OfficeMax. This has got to be one of best inventions ever.

These are a set of thank you cards I made today to send out (as thanks for birthday gifts). They're made of bright neon cardstock, and the front of the card has tracing paper overlayed on top which I printed "thank you" on in biiiig letters. Now I just need envelopes for these things.

Also, a question. I took some photographs that I plan to use on holiday cards this year:

I was wondering if anyone has printed out their own photo cards? I was hoping to do borderless printing, but I think that will be out.. so I'm just wondering, what would be the best way to print these so that my photos will be perfectly centered on the front of the card? I'm starting off with regular photo paper, which I will be cutting in half (to measure 8.5" x 5.5") -- which will fold in half to be cards. I've tried various settings on Photoshop and such, but the printer tends to make margins uneven anyway, even if I set them the same on the print settings. Also, what photo paper do you all recommend?

Could any of you be so kind as to direct me to the Nintendo controllor belt idea? I have a very video game-addicted younger brother who I think would appreciate something like that.

...And, um... would anyone like to share any of their ideas for what they're getting their mom for the holidays? (Yes, yes, horrible daughter... but I can't think of a single thing!)

Tonight I threw together my first bag, using the 'jordy bag' tutorial on Craftster.
I originally wanted a slouchy, slightly larger-than-usual bag that would be easy to get in and out of while holding my wriggling 16-month-old. (I think I may make another, smaller bag next, with two shorter, centered handles...for that one I'm going to use the very sweet carved black elephant button I've been hoarding!)

I'm sorry but they're gigantic, i just bought a digital camera today and don't know how to make the pictures smaller yet, but they're JPEG's so its not tooo bad.

i love pink )

I'm getting a bunch of requests now I can't wait til i have the time to make more!

I searched through the archives for Christmas gift ideas and found someones idea of making infused honey...
so I decided to go a step further with it.

www.honey.com has some neat recpies for making infused honey

I have ordered 4oz. jars bulk by the case (24ct.) for under 13.00 and honey is fairly inexpensive on its own.
So... I will make different flavors of infused honey, lemon, mint, ginger, and possibly another flavor or two and can them in the jars with a fabric cover on the lids. Attached will be a home made bag with losanges and cough drops and yummy tea bags with a love note for the sick from me.
It will be my sickness betterment gift since I know everyone gets a cough at least once during the winter months and everyone knows honey and tea make it all better.
I may think of other inexpesive things to add as the weeks pass but this is just my idea.
It's thoughtful, helpful, and personal.

Best wishes.

I haven't done any paper crafts in a while, so forgive me if I've completely lost my mojo.

Yes, they're black. I was going for something unconventional.

It doesn't show up in the pictures but the back paper is metallic. For the stocking image I stamped in versamark, embossed with clear powder, then went over it with a makeup sponge and colorbox black ink.

Added some fibers and metallic thread and there you have it.

The inside is going to have an embossed greeting on vellum (when i get around to it)

Thanks :)

So there's an advertisement in a local flyer for a portable 2 speed Dressmaker sewing machine. 55% off, making it 17.49 CDN. It has a built in light. Is this a crappy brand/buy?

Any suggestions for a first time sewing machine buyer? (I've used my mother's in the past, but don't have access to it now) and i'm pretty broke!

Thanks! :)

accents?

can anyone link me to patterns for tiny accent-like peices?

i have TONS of scarves and they are really starting to get boring, but i'm thinking if i made like tiny pin-on flowers, or animals, or something and put them on periodically, they might get cuter. i have a few links for flowers, but i am also looking for anything else cute and tiny. crochet only though, since i can't sew OR knit.

(nope! you're not seeing double, this WAS x-posted!)
