ive looked through the memories but it didnt quite have what i was looking for...
for my boyfriend for christmas, i wanted to get him a pair of boxers, and do a transfer of hello kitty (its a joke we have) somewhere on the boxers... ive done iron on transfers before and they pealed apart after a while and i really dont want that to happen this time around. so i guess my question is this: are there any websites/companys you know of who do work on boxers and not just tshirts? does kinkos put a picture/image on anything you want?

thanksss

As I've been getting more and more into crafting, I've been wanting to buy a few things for displaying and easy picture taking.
These things I'm talking about are plastic (atleast I think they're plastic..) body parts.
A head, for hats and such, a neck, obviously, for necklaces and a(n) (upper?)body for clothing.

I am guessing these are available for purchase on eBay.
HOWEVER! I have no idea what to call these things. Searching for "plastic head" doesn't really help any.
There's probably a proper name for these things. Help, what are they?

I know, I know - a text only post, which stinks - i'll update some pics of my recently finished duct tape and crocheted masterpieces soon. However I have a question -

If I want to make some no-sew relaxation wraps/bags....How would I go about it? Can I soak some plain rice in some lavendar essence oils, let it dry (so the scent is in the rice) to make it scented and heat up scented w/o loosing scent right away?
And what would I stick it in that would be soft and cushioning and not loose everything?
I can't sew -c an't see.

Has anybody gotten one of the new AOL cd holders in the mail? I have gotten about 2304823 of these over the years, and I always want to turn them into something else. But this one has gotten me even more excited then the cheap metal cases they were putting them in a few months ago. This one is a wooden type that opens up. Anybody gotten them and made something with it? Or am I the only nerd of this sort that gets excited about AOL cds (I know I am not.. I have seen the posts about altoid tins on here!!) hah! Just curious to hear of any crafts being made from these...

I just made a few pillow. First time I've made them in so long. I just got a new sewing machine for my birthday in Nov. They came out ok. I seemed to have forgotten how to sew straight. None of them have straight lines and it does make it look sloppy. Anyone have any suggestions to help me keep my stiches straight. As soon as I get my cam up I'll try to post some pictures.

ok so i was looking through the memories (instead of studying might i add) for ideas of what to do with pictures and/or gifts involving pictures and i didnt find that much info. so i want to start this post and i was hoping a bunch of people could reply to this post and give their ideas and then we can add this to the memories section. here are the ideas i have so far:

-make a collage
-get one of those frames with the cut-outs and put the pictures in there
-taking pictures and putting them through software and giving the "coloring book" effect, printing it out and making a coloring book. (this wasn't my idea and i forgot what user said this so please if this was you comment so i can give you credit =)
-making a frame to put a picture in, perhaps spray painting a plain frame with black chalkboard paint and giving the gift with a box of chalk
-taking a plain photo album and decorating it to give as a gift

and then any ideas you guys have also =) thanks!

Hi everyone,
a friend and I are making cigar box purses for christmas presents and we are trying to attach sheer ribbon to them with very little luck... I was just wondering what your suggestions were to attach the ribbon with minimal amount of glue or adhesive showing thru the ribbon?

thanks,

Darrah
(sorry for the text only post- I'll post pics when we're done!)

so I got this awesome hat for free the other day. Im not super hot on the color though, as well as it has some mild staining (like no one would ever really notice probably...)
its a dark tan/light brown and its felt.

I want to dye it.

but I dont want to totally fuck it up!!! I was planning on doing it in black (with rit) but after looking at this Im tempted to do it in a greenish color (it would still be brownish...)

so has anyone dyed felt stuff before?

as well as I have some felted stuff (like knit) that I want to dye. same process?

(I just realized that this is totally unclear- I am concerned with *how* to dye it. hot water okay? stove top? can I rinse it out? or will getting it wet totally just kill it?)

I made a knitting needle case for straight needles! It's so cute. It's pink plaid on the outside, and on the inside, the fabric is pink, and soft, with pictures of tea bags and cups of coffee. Printed on the fabric are the words, "I like boys" "I like coffee" "I like tea" "Boys like me"

My mum bought a piece of this nice Charles Mackintosh-y rose print and asked me to make a bag out of it, and I was happy to oblige her.

Every year a few friends of mine throw a "white elephant*" Christmas party with a "creative formal" dress code, which is fun because we all love being creative, right? Want to see the accessories a friend and I made for our outfits?

ten little pictures--you're warned in advance! )

*I ended up with a big, inflatable pickle for my present. That pickle is SO RAD.

Hi all

I made an attempt at a tutorial for the knitting needle case I posted earlier tonight. I'll probably redo the tutorial when I make another one (so I can get good pics). Until then you'll have to bear with a lame photoshopped tutorial.

you can find the tutorial here at
