Okay this may sound strange, but my “company” is called “the striped sock” and my logo looks like this-----title or description
Well, my Christmas presents this year are going to be wrapped in black and white newspaper, and then the bows will be made out of Black duct-tape (I'm going to fold the tape over and all, so it won’t be completely impossible to open these gifts)....I’m not trying to make them all “Goth” or anything, it’s just that all the things i made are “recycled” from other things that most people wouldn’t think about using, so i thought the duct-tape and newspaper would compliment the presents and my logo nicely.
The problem is the cards.....I figure they will be white enveloped with my logo on the front, ....That takes care or the envelopes, But the inside part is hard....I want everything to be black and white....so i have white card stock, so i figure just print and folded cards...but i don’t know what to put on the front....I was wanting it to be a little dark and different....But to just say “merry Christmas” Do any of you have anything that would work, or any ideas??? I thought something in old English or a wood cut look or something, I would adore some help...i have everything down pat but the card part....please my wonderful craft gurls help me out with your crafty- crafting powers!!!!
*edit- these gifts are going to my friend mostly and some small gift to people who bought from me when i was first starting to sell. That is why so much of the Logo thing, it’s not advertising or anything.

Ok, (sorry for text only, I am new to crafts), I was in the mod podge/decoupage aisle at a local craft store, and I am now left to wonder, what is the difference between the two? I saw that some kinds of mod podge or decoupage claimed to be only for fabric, while others were for everything, and then there was talk of finishes and acrylics, and another bottle that said something like leaving it for two weeks to cure...what I simply want to do is personalize some tins of homemade cookies for friends for the solstice. I'm using paper (pictures and quotes and whatnot...). Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I am heading to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's this weekend to get some supplies to start making earrings. My question is..Are there certain types of beads that you have to use or will just any ole beads work? This will be my first beading experience so I have been looking at some websites that sell beads in bulk but I am scared to buy them and have them not be the right size. Can someone help me?

Oh and thanks to all who posted pics and inspired me to make my own! You are all awesome!

I spend my morning looking around for Christmas diy projects and decorations.

I feel tremendously inspired by everyone's work, so I thought I'd share the links I found...

Hi everyone, I was thinking of making some cat toys for my sister's cats, and I was thinking that using felt would be the easiest. Then it occurred to me that some fabrics might not be good for pets to play with (because they might accidentally eat it? or something...) so I was wondering if anyone knows if felt is safe to use, and if not, what fabrics I should use. Thanks!

A long time ago someone posted a website here (this would have been last spring or late winter even) that contained a woman's business--she made quilts. Some of them were made of long, thin strips of material; I think a few of the quilts were made of silk. In any case, they sold for around 1,000 dollars, if I recall correctly.

I lost the link, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about. If you think you have the link to what I'm talking about, would you mind posting it? Thanks.

Hi all,

I have uploaded pics of the bag I just created. It's made using a pattern that I rearranged and changed to be more versatile. It's Magic because of the way it's created and the creativity you are allowed. Fully lined, reversible (or not), pockets or not, quilted or not, any size you need.

Lookie at pics! First, the bag itself! Next, a closeup of my stippling.

Hope you like :)

Does anyone have any idea how to loosen rubber cement?? I have maps rubber cemented to my walls and I'm moving and I don't want to rip them all apart.

Thanks!

Last year at this time my mom taught me how to knit. So, this xmas I thought it would be appropriate to knit her a scarf. As luck would have it, I found a lone skein of dusty mauve chenille on clearance for $3. I started the scarf a couple months ago and kinda neglected it...until I realized that I had about seven inches of scarf and two weeks 'til the big day. So, I've really been getting my knit-on lately...and today I finally finished the beast.

Clicky-click!

Extreme close up! WHOAAAAAAAA!!

Hi all...
I've been lurking in this community for about a month now - I've become obsessed, really. Thanks for all of the great ideas that have been posted up here, I'm constantly being inspired!

Soon I'll post some pictures of the crafts I've been working on... But FIRST: Someone posted a knitted scarf a few weeks ago that was two colours - kind of like one solid colour with a stripe down the middle.

Today I bought the wool, so my scarf will hopefully look blue-white-blue (I'm a Maple Leafs fan who wants to have my look prepared for when NHL comes back) but I can't figure out how to blend these two colours without getting this braid-ish thing when I try to blend them.

Help? :)

i was in tears last night trying to untangle this twisted skein of yarn i had bought. UGH, i didn't think it would be so difficult. anyway i bought 2 skeins of this berroco (http://www.berroco.com/images/hip-hop/hiphop_hank_500.jpg) and before i attempt to use it, i'd like some advice on how to unwind it without making a complete tangled, knotted, ugly disaster of it. thank you in advance!

I just have a quick question. I am giving my friend a picture of her in Paris in a picture frame that I bought. It's just one of those clip frames, no border. I want to decorate the frame though. What kidn of glue would I use to stick stuff onto the glass? I was thinking about hot glue, but then wouldn't it just peel off? Maybe crazy/super glue?

Thanks girls.
