Lucky Magazine featured these earrings for 135$ a few months back (in pink). I made them yesterday and it only took about 15 minutes per earring! Hahaha! Yes! I'm stoked!! I may make them in every color!

Anyone know any online e-tailers or brick-and-mortar chain stores that sell animal print fleece? I'm specifically looking for snow leopard (grey and black leopard) print. I've looked at JoAnn and Hancock fabrics, with no luck.

I am inheriting my grandfather's 100 year old sewing machine that has been sitting on the floor for the past 7 years because it is too heavy for anyone to lift. For my birthday, my mother agreed to give it to me and get it in good working order. Besides the obvious oiling, what else would be a common thing to check out before I can use it?

(it's similar to this)

(note: in the 70's or so, my grandpa updated it so that it's electric and has a pedal)

Here are some photos of my mother's Christmas gifts.  Two necklace-earring sets with freshwater pearls. Sorry about the links, I tried to insert pictures and got red X's this time.

Hi Craftfriends,
My best friends Yumi & Naomi who are also twins got variations of the same present this year, and they probably hate me. They both love HARRY POTTER, and I saw something on e-bay a while ago from The Prisoner of Azkaban that I thought I could make... Cough cough. I should have saved myself the trouble, as they are pretty scary.

Hint: These are not Gryffindor Scarves....... )

I've been working on this for about 2 months. I'm adicted to PCStitch!

Does anyone know where I can find a picture tutorial on how to cast off stitches when I'm done knitting? I've been reading how to, but I just can't get it. I seem to be more of a visual person :-/. Please help. My scarf would greatly appreciate being finished.

for those of you familiar with the show Firefly will instantly recognize this (hopefully!). it's Jayne Cobb's iconic and ubiquitous earflap beanie. i've personally never seen the show, but this was especially made for a Firefly fanatic. i'm pretty proud of it.. i've never actually tackled 'picking up stitches', and making the pom pom wasn't as fun as i thought. phooey.

My lastminute gift to my aunt (also known as "ziatata", where zia is the italian for aunt).
Cotton out and viscose inside; it's partially reconstructed because the lining is from a skirt I didn't wear anymore.
What do you think? ciao! :)

I think living abroad in Northern Europe has really gotten to me. Never before would I have made a pink pink bag with a shiny shiny butterfly. Oh the things a lack of light will do to you.

I got this table at Ikea - it's a plain unfinished wood top and metal legs that have to be screwed in to the table. I painted it the same light tan as my walls, and it looked so borring, so I painted a pattern of leaves and spirals on it with copper paint, and then put a clear gloss finish on it.

Hey Everyone!

Thanks for your help with my ring situation...unfortunately my mother ended up hating the ring, and I just got back from returning it...

annnnnyway.

For New Year's Eve, I wanted to give everyone a little "Fortune" or "horoscope" thing to open...picture fortune cookie type of thing...I'd rather not stick something in a cardboard tube and wrap it up... so if anyone has any other cute suggestions, please let me know!!!

Thanks!! ♥

Cratyness!

I modpodged a table top about a year ago, and I was sad because I had no camera to post pictures with. It's a webcam, so the quality may not be that great, but I think you can get the general idea of the table.

just a quick question...for those who have been making those wonderful Christmas cards, what kind of glue have you been using? I've tried to make a few cards but they don't tun out very nice. also, do you just use cardstock for your cards or something different? (including the patterns on the front if they're made from some paper).

and just so this isn't a text-only post, my cross stitch for my aunt (a year too late....but finally done!) and the other 3 i have sitting around

Belle of the ball...and other things. )

Just wanted to post my first scarf! Oh it's so soft and fuzzy! I love it! YAY! Thanks to the post earlier about binding off your project...I reviewed the video someone suggested and my Stitch N Bitch books! The last one (where you tie it off) was a little wonky, but no worries! Over all pleased with the results! :)
