Hi, I've been reading this community for quite some time, but just finally joined. I mainly knit and sew, although I do bits and pieces of other things and used to make a lot of jewelry. Here are some things I've been working on recently.

This bag is the first one I made this weekend. )

This is the second bag I made this weekend and possibly one of my favorite things that I've ever made. )

This is a crocheted bag I made last weekend. )

This is an earwarmer I made a couple weeks ago. )

I also made this hat a long time ago. )

This white ensemble was also one of my first projects. )

And last but not least, this is not just a photograph of my breasts, but is actually a photograph of a t-shirt I made awhile back with a cartoon from the Toothpaste for Dinner website. )

I ws hoping this post might reach somebody in my area that would know where i could find quality handmde (or at least looks handmade) paper in the Orange County, CA area. I'm in Santa Ana (smack in the middle of OC) and need white textured, raw edge paper for a portion of the wedding invitations i am making for my brother-in-law. I got some at Pearl in HB but they don't have any more and don't know when they are getting more in.....*sigh*
Do you know of any other art supply/specialty stores around that would carry such paper? I Googled and had no luck.

Apparently, March is National Craft Month, so in celebration, Joann.com is offering free standard shipping all month on orders over 25$. I don't know about you, but I can certainly find 25$ worth of goodies on their site, especially if I don't have to shell out for shipping!! The code is CRAFTSFH525.

Does anyone know how to (or a website that shows how to) make paper lanterns? I'm talking about the "china ball" type lanterns, not the ones you make from cutting strips out of the center of a piece of construction paper.

This kind.

I think I can figure out how to make the frame for the lantern, but how does one adhere the paper to the frame? What kind of glue is best to use?

It doesn't have to fold flat.

I have actually had quite a few orders over the last month so I should be happy. But instead I kindof had crocheters block.
That is gone and I have started finishing up projects.
Here is a hat that was commisioned a while back.

Next to finish is the sweater, it is coming a long but it is using an "F" and Dk weight so it is a pretty slow process.
Comments always welcome.

I've been checking out and responding to everyone else's lovely creations on here for a while, and now that my digital camera is up and working, I thought I would share something of my own. This is a journal I made recently out of a prebought composition book that I sewed and hot glued all of this pink fabricy and button goodness to.

What do you think?

I made a little display stand for the store that purchased my dolls. This way, when the display is empty, they'll know to order more!

bonjour-
my name is lily and i am a slow and clumsy knitter

however,
i have been thirsting for a pixie hat, a little bit like this one: )

more like this...http://www.ihad.dk/sale/sweetncuddly-pink2.jpg

but
does anyone know if this would work to be sewn rather than knit?

if so, what fabric should i use and what pattern or shapes of cloth?

This is a question about what to make out of the cute frog chinese checkers set I received for christmas. They're extremely cute, but I'm not much of a chinese checkers player.

what they look like )

I think the whole thing is really cute, and I'd like to find some way to display them somehow. Does anyone have ANY idea as to what I could make with them, or where I could put them to show them off. I'm open to any and all suggestions :) (anything's better than what they've been doing since christmas, which is just sitting unused in the box)

I read in the memories that you can use # 6 plastic to make your own shrinky-dink-type things. I was wondering if any of you could give me some examples to what would be an example of a #6 recyclable plastic...... Like would coffee can lids work? I couldn't’ find a # on them anywhere....Thank you guys so much! You all rock so very hard.
