I made a bear last night...well actually two nights ago now since it's after midnight. It's for A Month of Softies. It's not how I imagined it so I'm not sure how happy I am with it as of right now.

Hi! This is my first post here, even though I've been watching this community for a long time. Here's something I made today on the bus ride to and from work:
http://www.geocities.com/chibi-usagi/nekomimi.html
It was very easy to make. I just crocheted a circle for around my head and made triangle ears. I didn't use a pattern, but I think the ears are different sizes because of that.
(nekomimi means kitty ears. I was watching a very cute anime earlier today)

I was wondering, what are some of the more creative things you've done with damaged CD's? Or the stupid AOhelL discs?

Also, can you melt a CD in a microwave or an oven?

Oh goodness! I really hope someone knows about that craft off thing. I looked back a few days and didnt see it, and I'm worried it might be sometime soon..
I saw a commercial and read a post here about it.. seems like it was on diy network or possibly discovery or the home and garden channel.

Does anyone have information on this. It looked like a an Iron Chef battle.. only with craft supplies.
IRON CRAFTERS!

No, really. I cant miss this.

Hey Guys,
Here are a few cards I've been keeping busy with. I make cards for a charity called Keiki Cards (www.keikicards.org) which is an organization that collects hand made cards for chronically ill kids and sends them personal greeting cards. Definitely check it out!

And the bouncer totally carded me... )

I have offically searched back half way through Feb. in this community. It's amazing how crafty we are by the way, and how often we post! I think my eyeballs might be stuck in the back of my head from watching pages scroll by.

But I was looking for the person who posted the list of places to get free swatches from.
And I so cant find it.

So I am breaking down and asking.... I swear I tried first!

I recently found two awesome sheets of scrapbooking paper, and since I don't scrapbook, because I am apparently the only person on the planet who just isn't capable of it. I decided to find some oher uses for it.

One being a super sized blowup of some lovely grass, and the other is some kind of vintage fabricy stuff, which I didn't end up using as much as the grass paper. Too bad.

Day before yesterday I painted a pair of shoes (I have the flu and am desperately bored), and I thought they turned out pretty spiffy. I figured I'd like to do more and sell them, but before I do that:

My problem is that I don't know how to seal the paint (acrylic on faux leather)without making the shoes hard. They need to be able to move so they're (semi-comfortably) wearable.

pikchahs! )

Again.. I just exploded with craftiness...

(I love taking pictures @_@)

Question: What is your most used/loved craft supply or tool?

My answer: duct tape and glitter, but that is likely to change next time I got to the craft store.

What about all of you?

well i've taken your guys advice to heart and i've taken some more pictures, plus brightened some old pictures of my purses. you guys all gave some great suggestions! unfortunately, i haven't been able to make any more purses in the other colors of fabric that i have due to 1) school, and 2) my sewing machine being broken. i think i'm probably going to have to buy a new sewing machine ... maybe some time next week.

also, i've been trying to re-do the info that i'm going to put up on ebay ... so i have a major headache from figuring out html ... gah! but it'll be pretty when its all done!

Check out the new pics )

After reading the post earlier about getting free swatches, I ordered 10 from DistinctiveFabric.com - and I just received an email saying that they have been shipped.

Talk about fast service!

Now I just have to wait patiently while its delivered.

For those of you who solder and such. I have an idea for a ring, but don't really know how to go about it. I want to make a hollow rectangle basically. What's the best way to go about this? I've never done a hollow piece before so I really have no idea. Thanks in advance.

By the way, I finally got around to making my dice charm and it turned out great, I'll post pics tonight.

So I was inspired by some cool 'peps on craftgrrl and also a good friend of mine gave me shrinkys for Christmas. So here is what I made for my boyfriend who is into windsurfing, and our dog Opey! Cheers

Hi, I'm a loooooong time lurker, first time poster here.

I took a bunny image from one of my vintage craft books (it was meant to be an applique) and made it about 4 times bigger. I cut out two pieces of white fleece, sewed um together, attached tiny button eyes and a yarn pompom tail and then I embroidered on a little pink nose and VOILA! I'm giving him to my boyfriend as a late birthday/early easter present.

So, first time posting in a long while. Sadly, all I have is a question. Alright, so I was about to do a stencil, and I wanted to use up all of my fabric paint before I opened a new bottle.[Tulip Slick dimensional fabric paint]. I decided that I would rip the little pointed squeezy top off with my teeth, being to lazy to go get some plyers. Well, I got a glob of paint in my mouth. Heres my question: The bottle doesn't say if it's non-toxic or not. Does anyone know? Am I going to be horribly sick or anything?

If you could help, I'll love you. And by the way, I know it was so STUPID of me to take that thing off with my teeth. I'm young and silly.

My friend needed a wallet and said she really liked this one so I made her this one:

I was so jealous of it, I made myself this one. )

I made this

It used to be a men's dress shirt and I really liked the color and paisley pattern.
It's a little rough because it's the first one and I just kinda took apart this shirt and started cutting and sewing like a little furry monster.

hope you can see these pictures. )

Well Ken and I are not on talking terms again. He says that we can not use nylon thread and I said yes so he kept throwing a fit until he got his way so I told him I might have to break up with him and get me an industrial Singer who I will have to name Trent.

Thought I'd share a cute story. In physics, we had to design a vehicle that was powered only by a mousetrap. My friend and I spent hours this past weekend working on ours, and it turned out pretty crude... covered in packing tape all over and constructed mainly out of popsicle sticks and CDs for wheels. But the interesting thing was that we used crochet needles to construct a lever on the little car :) It was cute. We also set the record of our class... Ours traveled 43 feet and 4 inches! :D Sadly, I have no pictures because our car is still at school, but maybe I can post some when we get to take it home.

Also, I've got a question. My fingernails are very short and stubby because I am in a habit of biting them. I'm hoping to grow them out healthily so I can do some interesting things with them. For now I'd like to maybe paint some neat designs on them just to discourage myself from biting them... and then later once they grow out I can progress to even better designs. Does anyone know of a site or some pictures or ideas of things I could put on my nails? I'm not very creative, but I'd like some bright, exciting ideas! :)

Finally, a few pictures... )

hey, this my first time posting here xD
i have a stack of lead, you know the bendable metal kind. but, i have no idea what to do with it! i made a tiny string of ringmail from it (and i have no idea what to do with that either) and lead very pretty and i suppose i could poison someone with it but thats so boring.. so, i was wondering, does anyone have idea's of what i might do with it?
^^ thanks
