Hey everyone, I'm new. Yep.

Bah edit this post becuase I just saw it on the FAQ page.
And now checking the FAQ the pictures are all broken, so here's my question again!

How can you make smallish fabric flowers. I don't have a sewing machine at the current time and they have to be able to be washed!

In case anyone was wondering if using #6 plastic instead of shrinky dinks actually works... it does! I brought home my salad bar container last night and cut it up and popped my little shapes in the oven. It only took about 30 seconds, and they turned out really well. Go raid a salad bar!

Okay.. I've been googling for the past few days with barely any results.. I'm trying to find cute plastic charms/beads... all I can ever find are charms that are already on jewelry.. wholesalers that sell them, but have $200 minimum orders... and a few ebay lots that are mainly geared toward collectors and contain maybe 2 or 3 charms that I want for a price that's kinda crazy... I've seen a bunch of people around LJ making jewelry with cute charms in the shapes of records and guns and food items.. etc.. so.......  is anyone willing to share some links of where they got them from?  I'm especially looking for these.  Thanks in advance for any help!! :)

Anyone have a pattern for the crochet skull seen here http://www.supernaturale.com/showcase/articles/crochet_skull.html ? Or ever made one?

Or a knit pattern if its possible?

There's a possibility I'm going to a party tomorrow night, and I've been told it's a "masked ball type thing". I'll be getting drunk and falling over so a full costume would be a stupid idea, but I'd like to make a mask of some sort, just in case. I have cardboard, elastic, glitter and mountains of other miscellaneous crafty things but absolutely NO idea what sort of thing to make... does anyone have any ideas or some kind of tutorial?

I haven't made it yet, but my friend Ben found this knitting pattern for a uterus on Knitty-dot-com. Laugh at your own caution.

Hey everyone. I started a project called Hats for Humans for a school project. Basically I crochet hats and give them to people who need them that I see in my town (Oakland). I am putting together a little zine to hand out to my classmates and others that will show them what the project is, and how they can do it themselves.

Do any of you have (or know where I can find) a hat pattern (hopefully one knit, and one crochet) that I won't get sued for putting in my zine? I don't want to just "borrow" one off the web.

Thanks!

I'm trying to stencil a tshirt but the paint I bought doesn't show up well at all. Is there a particular brand that's really good, and will show up well on a black shirt?

Thanks in advance.

Any clue how to reline some extremely sweet vintage suitcases? They are the really sturdy plastic kind and hot pink. Very rare. Any clue where I could take them to have it done? HELP!

KNITTERS!

knitters:

tell me your favorites. i don't care what favorite. your favorite yarn, your favorite pattern, your favorite kind of needles, your favorite size needles. are you a circular needle girl, or do you prefer straights? thin yarn? thick? variated? what about your favorite stitch? tell your favorite anything-that-has-to-do-with-knitting.

i'll start.

my favorite yarn, by far: manos del uruguay. i love love love it...or any other kind of thick/thin color-changing yarn like that. soo gorgeous.
i like knitting on circulars rather than straight needles (well - i don't really like knitting circular projects so much, i just like the needles, easier to hold). my favorites are either tiny metal circulars, or, strangely enough, my big bamboo size seventeen's<3
i like seed stitch, for some reason.
blah blah blah, etc. heheh.

okay, so i'll admit, there's really no point to this post. i just thought it'd be interesting to see everyone's answers. so, go! tell me stuff!

Can somebody give me the website for the cable knit purses with the big wide silk bows? Do you know what I'm talking about? I want to show my mom because they're so cool. Thanks, guys, you always know what's up.

Has anyone ever dyed gauze? As in the kind that is used to dress wounds? I found a small roll of it in, of all places, an old pencil box. Utilizing it for medical purposes is pretty much out of the question now so I am thinking of using the gauze as ribbon for an empire waist on this dress ) which looks more like an apron, hence my attempt to decorate it. I wanted to ask the craftgrrls before investing in dye for such a tiny project.

science!

Hi everyone. I have a few little craft notions up for grabs if anyone wants them. Im about to donate alot of stuff to the local animal shelter, and this stuff will go with that lot if no one has any use for it. There are 3 pieces of felt, two blue and one orange and not very big. Theres also a scarf that I saved because I wanted to unravel it and do something crafty with it. It reminds me of dreadlocks.. well burgundy dreadlocks, and I thought I could make it into something awesome but I just dont have the time. All I ask is shipping $.
