I made this a while back but never had anywhere to show it off. It's pretty simple, just covering the frame with a b&w copy of the same picture that's in the frame. I think it gives it a neat look though.

my best friend is about 9 wks pregnant and im super excited. i want to make her a baby blanket and a diaper bag. the blanket im not worried about, but the diaper bag is making my brain hurt. ive found a few patterns but none of them are what i want so im going to make my own. im thinking a messenger style bag but with pockets and what not for baby necessities. im doing it in fashionable fabrics bc i hate baby crap. pastel overload if you ask me. i dont have kids, none of my friends nearby have kids and no one i know has baby stuff from when their kids were little.

my questions for you all are:
- what all kind of things should i make pockets for? meaning, what exactly goes in a diaper bag? this is a bit embarrassing to admit, but im almost 21 and have never changed a baby. (can you tell im not a baby person)

- what part of the diaper bags that youve used made it helpful or a pain in the ass? i want it to be as egronomical as possible.

- im planning on making a thick strap so it wont cut into her shoulder and using velcro instead of buttons or zippers for easier access. for all of you that have carried around the diaper bags, what else could i do to make it more accessable or comfortable to carry?

as soon as i get it all put together a huge picture post will be made. (x-posted to sew_hip)

piscene is very very mysterious. she rarely speaks and when she does its in such hushed tones that all you can think of is "did i leave the bath running?" i have tried asking her for more information but all she will say is that she has just recently escaped from a swimming pool and cannot bear to say much more.

Before I tackle the project of making my own pants, do any of you have any suggestions???

My mom's, best friend's mom has some sort of cancer and therefore has a tube coming out of her chest on her left side, where her bra strap would go.

Shes a fairly big woman (which includes the chest area) so she needs some sort of support system. Strapless bra's aren't enough support for her- so my moms friend is looking to me to make something...

I figured you ladies are problem solvers, and I am totally stumped, so please help!

first post ^^

This is my second tshirt surgery I've done. I just took a large size tshirt, and resized it.
And well, because I love candy I made a felt application of a lollypop. It came out better than I'd expected as the felt lollypop was a pain in the butt to make ><

A short time ago, this was curtains from Salvation Army!  Clicky! )  I also got a cute sheet I'm going to do the same thing to.  (Minus the ruffle).  That was already on the curtain so I left it!

I'm still working on some things and editing/taking pics so this update probably won't be finished until tomorrow. I have sixteen pairs of earrings I'm working on, a bracelet, a set of handdrawn/painted postcards, some teddy bear pillows(not as dumb as it sounds), a blanket monster (who was supposed to be for A Month of Softies as well but I can't get the bobbin to thread into the machine properly ::beats old ass sewing machine:: ), some felt hamsters, a few shirts, some bookmarks, a crocheted skirt, and a partridge in a pear tree. Most of that's waiting on the sewing machine. The crocheted skirt is just a matter of sitting down and crocheting (I broke the needle, swear to god. I'll post pics in the next entry, it's so lame).

Graphic heavy under the cut kids.

First off we'll start with my submission to A Month of Softies at Loobylu. This month's theme was 'The Recylced
Monster'. Reggie was made with an old hand sanitizer bottle, he was
filled with paint, and given wire arms, legs, and antennae. The city
was made with a plastic cup and old tissue paper painted over and
sealed with acrylic varnish. His arms are poseable, his legs can rotate
as can his antennae.

This is Reggie

Reggie says 'Screw you Godzilla!' )

More to come (today or tomorrow). Oh, and...pretty much copy/pasted verbatim from my personal journal ('cause I'm lazy. Nobody on my f-list really reads craftgrrl except Ms. Sam but I doubt she'll mind).

Question! My best friend and I both have bra sizes that do not usually come in fun patterns and lacy and things. (She's a D, I'm a freaking AA We just don't GET fun bras, apparently.) and we were thinking of getting some plain bras and dying/decorating/embriodering them. Anyone know of good tutorials or things like that we could try?

I hope nothing like this has been posted before- if it has, just point me to the post and I'll delete this one. I don't think so though as I checked the memories several times.

Anyway, our colour printer just broke. It's terrible because I'm on the verge of starting three crafts projects which require stuff to be printed out and transferred to fabric. So, basically what I need to know is, is there any other way to transfer printed images besides printing on iron on paper or stencilling? Thanks.

I know this is completely random, but I was wondering if anybody had an idea on how to make some kind of home for a turtle. My boyfriend has a turtle, and it lives in this tiny, tiny bowl thing, and I feel so bad for it. If there's no way to make something, I suppose I'll go buy something. It just seems like it would be ridiculously expensive, and I don't have all that much to spend. Actually, I'm not completely sure what turtles DO live in. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Heya! Earlier this week I was looking for recipies to make my own hair dye from scratch. I'm very, very excited about founding this website, http://www.hennaforhair.com/. Henna was one of the dyes I'd used before, but the recipie I used was gone completely by a month. If you can shift through this website, where people show off their results and tell you how they did it and what ingrediants to use, and find a good one this dye is supposed to last 3 months+. Here's a picture of the one I'm planning to use:
.
I'll let everyone know how it goes, and would also love to hear if anyone else tries and shares their results. Hehe!!

Hi everyone!

I just won a pair of cheap-o boots on eBay, and I want to basically paint them white and cover them with rhinestones. I'm planning on spraying a primer to the boots, possibly spraying with a white floral paint (something I've done before).. And then I'm stuck. Should I spray with sealant and apply the rhinestones with rhinestone glue? After I apply them, should I spray another coat of sealant, or would that affect the shine? Should I do something completely different?

And so this isn't a text-only post, these are the boots I won:

Thanks everyone.
