Goodness gracious! I certainly haven't properly updated on here in a while.
I finally got a new camera, and I have many many many crafts to post here, another day.
But here is my shawl I just finished crocheting! It's about six feet across, too bad it's way too big for my 5'2" self!
Haha, I don't know what to do with it, but here it is for now :]

Tried some different things this weekend. Still trying to decide how I feel about them.

I like these colors, but is it too hard to wear? )

this is most likely a silly question but....

does anyone know of a paper shredder that shreds in different thicknesses (not the amount of paper it can take but what size shreds it gives)?

at work, so it has to be text-only.

I have a question, that may just be silly.

I have an old white shirt that I love. It fits perfectly, I love the neckline, etc etc. Before I go stenciling it, I wanted to see if there was a way that you gals knew of to bring it back to white. Like I said it's old, so it's sort of lost it's whiteness. It's just yellowy I guess from washings, getting dirty, etc.
I know that bleach will get white spots on things, but is there a way to use bleach to bring the shirt back?
This isnt so much a craft question as it is laundry 101 I suppose. hah.
Another option is to dye it another color, but like I said, I'd like to revive it more than anything.

Thanks!!!

I was wondering if anyone here had tried stenciling with fabric dye. Over the weekend I saw a cream colored cartigan that had green flowers stenciled on it (J. Crew Outlet) for far too much money. I am just not sure what kind or even if any fabric dye will be good for stenciling. I'm afraid it would be too runny and bleed too much? Maybe there's a thicker one that I'm not aware of.

I could always use acrylic or fabric paint, but I'd rather have the color in the fabric rather than on the surface.

Your thoughts?

I made a necklace with some glass beads and craft wire last week. I like how it turned out, but I'm trying to decide if I want to add some faux pearls that I have to it.

Look at the pictures and tell me what you think. )

Hey everybody! For all you jewelry makers out there, I was wondering what type of pliers are best for making small things like earrings, necklaces, etc. I saw 4 or 5 different ones at Joanns and had no idea which one to get. Does it matter? I need it to press down gaps in those tiny metal circles that make up the chain in an earring, if that makes sense, and clamp stuff...

Help me commit to a relationship with a pair of pliers please!!

i've been watching and commenting for about a month now, and i have enjoyed you all so much. i have been so inspired (two sock monkeys, four harry potter shirts, a bandana for my dog, paper stars, and now a skirt)!

but i have a bit of a problem that i'm sure some of you have faced before. my bobbins always seem to get tangled no matter what i do. i had them in a little bag i had made when i took sewing in high school but they just get tangled (i just now cut apart a dozen of them that had worked themselves into a knot).

i don't have a sewing/crafting room and i don't have anyplace permanent to put the little guys. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for solutions, or what do you do to keep them all neat?

thanks a bunch, i will try to get some pictures posted when my mom's camera is working again.

I was in Philly this weekend and went to one of the local science museum..I saw this beautiful beaded headdress that was very simple. I wanted to make one for myself..does this make any sense? lol. If anyone knows how I could make one or even a website that might have a tutorial please let me know. I want to make one for halloween this year to wear.

Thank you!!

Amanda
