so, as of this summer i've been working at a small French restaurant nearly every day. it's a BYOB place, so it's normal to get people coming in with wine. we open the bottles, serve them, and eventually toss them. i feel so bad just tossing all of these bottles away! we throw everything from Perrier to cute baby Pelegrino to wine bottles and corks out.

so, any ideas on what to do with the bottles and corks? throwing them away makes my creative heart ache.

secondly, i know i saw a while ago (hell, it could have been well over a year ago) a SCAD student who posted what she did to her dorm room. as a new, and rather scared student, could you get in touch with me? please?!

and so this isn't a text only, some random stuff i've done. i'm not a very crafty person, but i try my best. :o)

I started making jewelry sort-of seriously last fall, and now it's sort of an obsession. I have more beads than I know what to do with, but it's never enought, of course. I can't walk barefoot in my house anymore, because bits of wire that flew away when I cut them have embedded in the carpet, waiting to strike (any tips for preventing this?)

Anyway, I created this this last week. It's my favorite design to date. I spent over an hour on it, and love love love love it. I expect it to cause me physical pain when I sell it.

Two types of Czech crystal, fancy sead beads in a verdigris color, burgundy pearls, and copper fittings. It has an absolutely stunning dragonfly clasp, which you can see here, along with a few other pictures of recent creations:

Middle eastern market at sunset - you can just about smell it, cinnamon, cardamon pods, amber, sandalwood and patchouli, orange and neroli....mmmmmm. This is the first piece to feature buttons threaded on like beads...works with this tribal style.

Many pairs of earrings behind the cut! Careful, image heavy! I apologize for the TERRIBLE picture quality. My digital camera screen cracked and now I can't see how the pics have turned out until I download to my computer. . .boo. . .

My new love is funky earrings made out of buttons. I'm finding that there are no end of effects that I can achieve with buttons. . .And buttons in any sense are adorable! All of these earrings were designed and made by me. The findings are mostly nickel-plated since I don't have very sensitive ears and haven't invested in a big batch of silver-plated findings. Thanks so much for looking! I'm so grateful for any feedback, I don't know if these appeal to the general masses as much as they do to me. . .:)

Loteria card quilt. 100% handmade. Hand sewn, blah. Took FOREVER, but I love it. I may make more Loteria quilts of other cards to keep it company.

hi. it's me again. u know, the girl who is desperately trying to get into stencilling but just can't seem to get a handle on herself.

i bought freezer paper as instructed but it's "plastic lined" and i feel as though this is not correct. it's supposed to be waxed...right?

Okay, so my aunt is having twins girls in... well, probably around Thanksgiving time, I think. I want to crochet things for them for the baby shower. The thing is, I don't want it to be things that everyone's going to be giving, like bonnets and blankets. I guess blankets wouldn't be so bad, but I'm new at crocheting and I don't want it to be too difficult. The only thing I've mastered so far is a simple scarf, but I'm willing to try other things. I don't have to crochet, though. Anyway I guess I'm basically asking for cute things I can make for twin baby girls. They don't have to be clothes or anything. Bath things are good and such too. Anything?

Sorry. This is my second post today :)

i wondered if anyone has any ideas of what i can do with the hundreds of self-adhesive foam shapes and letters i have just been given. The shapes are Stars Hearts Squares Circles and Triangles.

Thanxs if you can help!

I remember seeing a post/pictures of origami earrings. I was wondering whether anyone knew of *very* easy to follow/how to make origami sites?

Thanks!

Help!

I'd love to start making those cute bottle caps (and eventually charms) with resin and pictures/glitter etc, but I read the memories and I still don't know what to do.

If someone could give me a general shopping list of the supplies I need for filling them, I'd owe them one!

Also, what's the best way to cut the circles to go in the caps?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I needed something to stencil, since I have a whole new sloo of blank shirts for school. I've pretty much exaughsted any sort of Alkaline Trio stencil, so I was pretty stumped. And so I decided to move on to movies.

I am wanting to make myself a shirt just like the cape hedwig wears in hedwig and the angry inch. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could find a similar grafiti like text online (for free) to base my shirt on?

Last night I did some t-shirt surgery. This was made from an old Batman shirt I had that no longer fit me as well as I should hope, and a huge XL black t-shirt that I had for some reason. Whipped it out in about half an hour, and I'm quite proud of myself! ;)

From top to bottom it's made of my shorts, my brother's jeans, and my dad's golfing shirt.. all were too hole-y to wear. one of the seams is folded up there.. it's not always like that.
