Pink Bag - Light pink boucle, bright pink velvety sort of stuff (it was on clearance, not sure what it was called) Originally, I was following the pattern but in the end, I didn't want 9 pictures, I wanted two.. and I wanted pockets on the inside so I kind of just made it up as i went

Hi everyone,

I figured maybe there would be some candlemakers here who could offer some suggestions. Last year I bought 25 pounds of black parrafin wax chunks from someone on ebay. I don't know what I was thinking....I think I thought I would some how use it up making candles for Halloween, but that never happened.

I have a craft show coming up, and I'd like to make some candles for friends for Halloween, and I'd like to use this wax up and make some nifty candles. Making just plain black candles seems rather unexciting. I've been making candles for a little over a year, and I'm pretty good at it, but I have yet to think of something extremely creative for this wax.

Any ideas on either dressing some black pillar candles up to look nice and elegant (rather than gaudy?), or some creative candle technique that would produce a cool effect?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

I'm looking for a good way to make some Shrek like Ogre ears for my already bald boyfriend. We're going to attach them with spirit gum.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped.

I have a Shapeshifter tarot deck just sitting in my closet, haven't used it for years. It's a gorgeous deck, but right now I have no use for it...unless I can craft something out of it. Has anyone ever made anything out of a tarot deck before? I could use some suggestions. Thanks.

And so we're not all text, here's what's become of my Brad Pitt bracelet:

I ended up using velcro to close and made it really simple. I took a hole punch to my velcro strips and they were the perfect size!

So I have a question. My friend is going to let me borrow her button maker [ I was thinking of getting one but I want to have a test run before I actually shell out 200$].
Anyway, she has a badge-a-minit 1 1/4 inch starter kit, here's the catch she lost the instructions and for the life of her can't remember how to use it. And me being the novice at button making I have no clue.
I was wondering if anyone had one and new. Thanks so much!!

That's the one she has...
And thanks again in advance.

So, i'm new to the whole crafty world. i recently made my first bag and love it. but im out of new ideas as to what to make. therefore, i was wondering if anyone had any good tutorials, or different types of bags, simple clothing and such i could try. i really appreciate it. carfts are the only thing that relax me and right now i could really go for some new ideas.

Quick question before LJ cut...
(actually, two.)
1) What dresses are really out of the ordinary that have struck you as something you want to sew or simply covet? Post a picture perhaps?
2) Not sure if this's crafty, but is it at all possible to increase the rate that your hair grows? I cut it too short and now I'm getting impatient!
Okay, Here're two miniprojects I've done! )

I made a sock monster last night for my daughter. He took about 3 hours to make - tv watching included. I am wishing now that I would have used my brain and turned the seams to the back instead of to the side. DUR. Oh well...

So many arms for hugging!

One More Thing )

wow. yeah. totally love the "little to none" homework factor of being a senior. i actually had some time tonight to make me a new bag, and i even got all of my homework done.

anyway. yes, i'm obsessed with making tote bags. they're so simple yet functional and wonderful. my entire life fits in them, which is a sketch book and a million other things (including crushed pop tarts in sandwich bags).

so on to the pictures.

plus three )

so, actually, it's not just tote bags i'm obsessed with making. it's also the whole polka dot thing.

I was just wondering what everyone's favorite crafting mags, books, or other sources are besides your own imagination. i'm trying to come up with gift ideas for xmas. thanks

I was a busy bee over my fall break from school. I think I made 6 bags, so here are some pictures, plus pictures of the tote bag I made myself because I grow tired of my backpack.

Thanks to everyone who gave me felting advice the other day...unfortunately the bag is still being uncooperative, and I rubbed my hands a little bit raw, and spent a couple bucks at the laundromat. I'll just wait til I go home and use my parents' washer and dryer.
