Does anyone know where I can find a bunch of metal altoid type tins, without eating a ton of altoids, or course. I'm making some marble magnets and thought they would be nice for presentation.

Had a little free time today so I whipped these pieces up with what little beads I had in my old bead box.  I like sticking with earthy tones, and big chunky beads.  Glass & ceramic beads, wire, clamshell clasp.
It was very cathartic, and I think I may get some good beads and do some more stuff (better, fancier stuff).  I used to really enjoy making jewelry....

I finally finished a huge bead project that was almost too much for me to chew.

Size 11 Miyuki seed beads
4.75" x 3.75"
Original design

I'm going to pin it down to try to keep the edges straighter, then put a mat over the edges and frame it. It will be an xmas gift for my bf's mom. It looks really cool in person. No picture I took looked very good.

I'd like to string them, my powerdrill is shot tho:( I'm making something for my bf for when he leaves and I would like to attach it to them. I have tried heating a nail, hammer a nail through it (it cracked apart) ... any one can help out?? Thanks in advance!

does anyone have a trick for un-attaching pearl snaps?

i attached both sides of a pearl snap on a tote bag, as a finishing touch. and i didn't realize until it was too late that the stud and the socket are two different sizes! (note to self: do not keep "assorted" snap pieces in same bag.)

now i need to get one of the sides off, so i can put the correct size pieces in. they won't fit together as-is, and since i made this tote as a special order, i can't just scrap it.

any help or ideas are much appreciated!

my first post:

something girly i made today!

gingham love! )

it's made out of 2 "old" skirts (meaning i don't wear them anymore) which i've been wanting to 'recycle'. pretty things don't go to waste! i handstitched on cream lace on the rosette so that it won't look so flat. oh, i didn't make the rosette; it was already on the skirt! i meant to give it away as a present, but the workmanship turned out less satisfactory so i'm keeping it for myself.

I first made it in blue and silver and white with light blue ribbon. Sort of an icicle theme. But the red and pink turned out nice too.

This one too, was a hard pattern to make, they're grape bunches, really cute and funky.

I just wish I was better at photography. Any suggestions on how to display this to better detail?
