I'm trying to make some fleece hats for my boyfriend's nephews.
Their ages are, 6 months (but I would make a 9 or 10 month size so he can grow into it), 3 years old and 4 years old.
The only data online that I could find is a confusing chart for the head circumferences for 3 year olds. So using that, these are my rough guesstimates of what the circumferences of the hats should be
for the 6 month old: 18.6 in (48.8 cm)
for the 3 year old: 20.5 in (52 cm)
for the 4 year old: 21 in (54 cm?)

Please, please help me! Does anyone have a child whose head they've measured, or make alot of children's hats and know the sizes.
I'm trying to make up the pattern also and I'd hate to do that and then have the hats not even fit.

It's my first time actually making clothes and the first time actually using the sewing machine. So for my first time I actually think I did a pretty good job. The stitching could be a lot better but it's ok I know my boyfriend will LOVE them.

Hey everyone! I've made some new things over the past few weeks, but haven't had a chance to take pics & post them 'til now...

There are 2 neckalces and a lot of cards I made under the cut... I would really appreciate feedback on the cards, since these are the first I've ever made. I'd love constructive feedback or to hear what you think about them.

I have been a crafting maniac the last few weeks working on both personal projects, gifts for Christmas and craft swaps. The last two things I finished were gifts/secret swaps so I couldn't post them until they arrived at their new owners doorstep.

i'm sorry to ask such a ridiculously silly question and you can delete this if it's inappropriate, but i'm just wondering...

how on earth do you hang a canvas board?
the kind that are like, cardboard with a canvas front and a totally flat back?

I've been really inspired with Victorian style fashion lately and I've incorporated it in with some of my kimono fabric items I normally make.

I made some new kimonolets/wrist cuffs and this time round, I experimented with vintage laces, faux pearl buttons and cameos. I was thrilled with how many of these came out! The body of the cuff is made from vintage kimono fabrics.

These are my favourite out of the lot:

Also - I want to recommend a product if I may. I was orginally using the dritz brand snap fastener tool (the one that kinda works like pliers) and for the first round of kimonolets I made months ago - they worked fine....but for these ones - they just wouldn't work properly at all. I strugged with them and gave up in a fit.

I did some researching and I found this website:

http://www.snapsource.com/

I ordered their fastener tool and a bunch of silver snap fasteners. I cannot express how HAPPY I am with this purchase. It was a breeze to use - and I got professional results right off the bat. As a bonus - they have a large selection of all sorts of colours in the rings fasteners, cap fasteners and pearl fasteners. So if anyone else is struggling with the dritz tool - I say give the snap source tool a go :)

In addition to making wrist cuffs...I've made some more Victorian style brooches using vintage kimono fabric. These were a lot of fun to make - and I hand sewed all of them:
