Sorry for the text only, but does anyone know where I can buy chopsticks? Just regular, $.99 eating chopsticks? I want to decorate some and give them to my sister for her to use as hair ornaments.

I'll have more projects to show off this weekend. :DD

Can anyone refer me where to find a pattern for a cloak? I'm a part time fairy (no really) in Canada where there is lots of cold and snow... and I need something to go with my fairy dress that isn't a bulky marshmallow winter parka.

I've been waiting to post pictures of handcrafted Christmas gifts this year (so that I wouldn't ruin any surprises), but now I can finally post my FAVORITE one since I gave it to its new owner this past weeekend.

My friend loves opera and zombies. Guess what I made her?

This year for Christmas, I decided to make some of my family members potholders! I don't know how functional they'll be, but at least they came out cute. ;)

Alright folks, now that we are into December, it is time to decide who has won the ornament contest!

TOMORROW we will vote. Please do not vote on this post as it will not be counted. This post is solely to find out who is eligible.

I followed squid_ink's tutorial (http://www.livejournal.com/community/craftgrrl/7418235.html) except I used foam instead of cardboard and batting.

My insufferably hip friend's birthday is tomorrow, and I couldn't figure out anything sufficiently current to fit her tastes:P So, I made her this kickin fabric-bead necklace out of a vintage scarf and a quick trip to the craft store for huge beads:D
The colors don't look so great on me, but she's got middle-eastern olive coloring that I think the reds/golds will work on:)

So please please please flood me with your fantastic ideas which when made will have to incorporate the techniques i have learn thourghout the making of the book so nothing too extravagant! lol......

Here are some pages of the book i have scanned so you know the kind of feel of the book - PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FOR YOUR OWN WORK AS IT IS MY COURSEWORK!

I made myself a beanie using my kniffty knitter, I didn't put a brim on it, and the bottom flips up. It drives me nuts. Is there a way I can make it stay straight?

So this isn't text-only... a Rent messenger bag I stenciled.
There will always be women in rubber flirting with me! )

negatives

Is there any use for photo negatives? I have all my pictures on CD anyway, and I've never used a negative for anything. I was thinking about scanning them and doing something with that, but I'm not sure. They take up a lot of space and I'd like to throw them away, but I don't want to miss out on any great ideas. Thanks!

Modifying the template at savvyseams.com, which I found in the FAQ (thank you, mods!), I made a duct tape iPod case. )

Just so you know: 16x20 canvases are $4.99 for a two-pack at Michael's for the rest of the week. That's a damn good deal.

Text only is whack, yo. )

I wanted to make this hat even tho I live in Mississippi, and I doubt it'd be that cold to get any real wear out of it LOL but I also just wanted to see if I could make it on my knifty knitter..

Hi guys, I've been lurking for a while admiring your wonderful work and using it as inspiration.
However, I've found myself in a pickle!

I would really like to make my boyfriend something for the holidays.
I started to learn to crochet about a month ago and got a little hopeful and thought I could make him a scarf....however it turns out I'm a really terrible crochet-er.

I want to make him something...like a blanket?
Something that involves sewing--because I can actually do that.

Is this hard to do?
I've heard of "cut and tie" blankets but after looking around for them I can't seem to find them anywhere.

So basically my question is: is it hard to make a nice looking blanket?
I'm really only experienced in sewing tops and things like that, and I've only been sewing for about a year and a half.

Maybe even a pillow...

Hints/tips/suggestions/places to point me to?

Since alot of people seemed to miss the ornament contest entry, from now until Christmas Eve day we will have a different contest - Most Crafty Packaging! Like last time, all you have to do it make a post in the community with the subject "Craftiest Christmas Crafter", and post pictures! We will have a vote for the winner, who will receive, well, love and adoration from the rest of the community, and if I get my act together maybe a little gift in the mail. This is a fairly vague topic, so have fun! Wrapping, boxes, bags, anything you can think of - BUT MAKE IT CRAFTY!

Happy crafting!

so what do you do with the large box of penthouse magazines from the seventies that a friend left in your living room, aside from possibly burning it for warmth?

you cut out pictures, contact paper them, add hooks, and make pornaments! (not work safe!) )

My boyfriend saw a duct tape wallet online and he thought it was REALY cool. I said "Hey, silly. I can make that." He is all excited about getting his new duct tape wallet for Christmas. I've made two of the ones you've all seen a billion times and I think my third try of an all-duct tape one will be perfect. . .

But tonight I made one using fabric and it turned out great. Duct tape is my new best friend. )
