I have been on the hugest stenciling kick lately. So wihtout further ado, here's ALL the stuff I've done for the past few weeks. Some of it isn't stencil, but oh well. Also please excuse the crap quality of the photos, I am a stenciler, not a photographer!
Also I hope to god this cut works, I am a total noob at LJ.
I hope you like my things!
Dial-up users, save yourselves! 9 pictures under the cut! )

chick (to SO): i like your flower!
SO: helen made it for me!
chick: REALLY?
me: yup!
chick: WHOA. (touches flower) what is it made of?
me: duct tape.
chick: WOW!

We have a giant empty wall in our front room that really needed to be filled. I started this wall-hanging forever ago, worked on it a while & then did not touch it for months. The holidays are partially to blame, but the main reason is that after making patchwork all day at work I do not want to touch the stuff! I want to work on new crafts!! ;) I guess all of the New Years resolutions got me motivated to finish it up over the last few weekends...

Hi, y'all. Sorry, text-only today.
I do have some pictures of a hat I crocheted and felted but they are all on my camera still blah blah blah

Okay, there is this guy I REALLY adore and I would like to impress him with a fancy Vday gift. I would like to make him a DINOSAUR. He likes dinosaurs. I am pretty sure he is really ten years old and not twenty four. I crochet, so I'd like to make it that way. Does anyone have any patterns or ideas for crochetin' a dinosaur?

Much appreciated!

Anyone know anything about this fabric paint?
Does it work on spandex? Does it crack when you stretch the fabric?
Like if I were to paint with it on this spandex egg chair:

And then sit in it, would it make the paint crack?

Or if anyone knows of any paint that would work, please tell me.

Or if anyone knows if bleach stenciling the chair would be a good idea or not, please tell!

Thanks!

I picked up some printable sticker paper (acid free, even) and had some fun with making labels for things. )

I've been reading for a while, and I thought I should probably post something.

Because I couldn't find a pencil skirt in the shops (I think my local shops and I have very different taste), I made one.

As chronicled in absolutely terrible cameraphone pictures... )

I apologize in advance for the text only post, but I am getting quite desperate. I want to make origami (or paper, it doesn't have to be traditional origami, necessarily) roses for my single friends for Valentine's Day, and I've had no luck at all with the two methods I've looked at. Both produce great roses but are insanely difficult.

I've tried:

http://www.bloom4ever.com/HowToFold.htm

http://www.folds.net/tutorial/models/marie_rose/marie_rose_diagrams.html

and

http://www.josephwu.com/Files/PDF/rose.pdf

But I can't seem to manage any of them! I've tried marking grid lines. I've tried different weights of paper. I've been at this game for days now and just don't know what to do!

Has anyone done paper roses before? If so, do you have any tips or suggestions, or does anyone else know of a managable pattern for an intermediate paper crafter?

I'm not sure if this is acceptable here but I'll try it anyway. Go ahead and delete it if it's not appropriate.

I'm heading back to school next week so I figured I'd have a bit of fun covering my books while promoting my various fandoms at the same time. These are what I've come up with so far:

individual photos under the cut. )

I also made a yellow shirt/jacket a few days ago, It's the first time I'm drafted a pattern myself without screwing up too much. Since the taking the following photos I've fixed the sleeves and added a zip.. I'm just too lazy/sick to take more photos.

Yellow like the sun! )

That is all.

Hey woah tye dye! (cut for copious amount of silly pictures)

I used the Jaquard tyedye kit (it comes in this huge white box, includes the rubber bands, dyes, bottles, soda ash, and instructions) and I got *wonderful* color results from it! I was really worried that it would turn out kind of pale and wimpy, but the colors are very strong:)

This isn't quite the greatest crafty project ever, but...

What do you do with Magic The Gathering cards?

Collecting? Playing? Trading?
Don't be silly.

You make a purse, of course! )
