Turned an Altoid tin into a sewing kit. I like it.

So I'm watching the Oxygen channel right now (channel surfing, found this, I only watch Oxygen for Ellen) and there's this show on about designer knitwear. And they're showing how to make your own stuff out of old stuff and knitting, like tube socks with knitted cuffs and a t-shirt with knitted sleeves buttoned on and they tell you how to do everything. It's really great, so everyone should watch it right now... I have no clue what show it actually is, however...

ps. a really long time ago (like, a week or two) I posted some stuff I made including ipod cozies and I found the tutorial I used.

EDIT: the show's called Knitcraft...or Craftknit? something like that. It might just be a special.

I'm participating in a youth event sponsored by Levi's, and as part of the event, all us booth people are given a pair of jeans to customize into a signboard for our booth.

My booth is about alternative education (learning beyond traditional schooling) and is named "The Educated Deviants". My idea was to make pockets (kinda like cargo pants) and fill them up with things related to my booth.

I have less than a week, a very low budget, and I'm not particularly skilled at sewing (though mum's agreed to help). What else can I do with those jeans?

My uncle gave me this shirt a while back. It was an XL so I decided to cut it up...

I really, really like wearing my penguin earrings (as seen in this post), so I made another round of clay sculptures! This one is all earrings.

I ran out of the earring hooks, so some of them still have the uncut and shaped wire sticking out of them. I forgot to take a picture with something to scale it, but most of them could fit on a nickle (the earring hooks are normal sized, if that helps).

coin jar

I took an empty, washed pickle jar and decoupaged some money saving articles and money-related pictures on it and on the lid I glued a piggy bank picture and glued the border with pennies, but despite the fact that the jar has been washed out with soap and water, there's still a pickle smell to it. I put this deoderizing ball in it just to see if that would take the smell out (hey, it's worth a shot), but does anyone know what else might get rid of the smell?

I had a small Ben & Jerry's container (from the ice cream truck) and washed that out, cut a slit in it and made that into a bank, but I have a lot of coins so it's definitely too small for me. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of that, but it's the reason I've moved up to a pickle jar. :)

Marble magnets are fuuun.Left: The Life Cycle of a Ladybug/Right: Random girly pictures

So, my mom and I made these marble magnets last night. The ones on the left are a protype that she plans on selling at a statewide convention for Master Gardeners.(The ones on the right were me fooling around with the idea of selling them randomly). How much would you be willing to pay for a set of six marble magnets? We figured in all the costs to make a pack and it ends up being around $3. Would $5 be appropriate? As some of you may know, they only take a few minutes to throw together. Suggestions?

Bought these cool frames at the craft store and came up with the idea for leaves with two eyes peering out of the leaves while laying in bed. Not sure what anyone would want to put in it, but I like the way it turned out lol. The frame has green (with metalics), blue (with metalics) gold and copper colors in it (the orange parts are acually a metalic copper paint)

To the outside edges it measures 6.5 by 8.5 inside spot for picture measures 3.5 by 5.5 frame comes with a peg to insert into the back of the frame to allow it to stand up. Frame didn't come with glass.

Here is the frame with a print of my Green Woman painting.

I haven't posted to this community in awhile, so I thought I'd share what's been keeping me busy craft-wise.

I've been having fun making luggage tags. Here are a bunch of my designs, and I've got lots more in the works. )

Made a quick card for my friend in NY. This pic doesn't do it justice so yeh. It reads "make a wish". She'll be spending her Birthday all by her lonesome this year: well maybe not (hopefully she's made some good friends from the uni there). Does anyone have any good card ideas or tutorials? I'm bored with boring old cards. I want to find a trademark style. Any ideas?

Also! I love the stuff swapping idea but i'm in Australia so alot of the stuff referred to on this forum is quite hard to find here.e.g. MODPODGE?...noone knows of an Australian craft communities do they?

I saw this bag at Target, and instead of buying it, I attempted to make it myself.

I'm a novice sewer, so this came as a challenge.

BUT there's more. Over mother's day I cleaned out decades upon decades of fabric in my grandmother's sewing room. I am so pleased. Without further ado, A huge bag and a cozy, fabric circa 1968 )

I'm covering a pair of shoes I got for $4 bucks at the thrift store. My original plan was to use origami and fortune cookie fortunes. Now that I've got one of the shoes covered in origami, I'm not so sure I want to add the fortunes. I was going to put them on randomly all over the shoe. But now I'm thinking I should just put one on each, somewhere in the back..or none at all. It might end up ruining them.

what do you think?

Scarf I made for a craft swap. It is based on the pattern in The Happy Hooker but I wanted to make it look more "chic". I used only one color and I added seed beads to the flowers on both ends. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any really good pictures since I had to rush the package out to the post office.  :(

I present Tetra. A tentacled tetrahedral monster. She is simultaneously "like, Oh-Em-Gee", mischevious and ferocious. No long preamble here, just let me know what you think, comments and criticisms welcome.

Lest you think I am good only for chibis, I thought I'd show some of the more detailed, more realisitic-ish (but still cartoony, I guess) critters I've done.
