Does anyone have any idea where I could get sheets of foam that's 1/4" thick? I need it for a messenger bag I'm making because I want everything to survive when I inevitably toss it around. So far, the thinnest foam I've found was at Joann's, and it's 1/2" thick, which is definitely too thick to be lining all 4 sides of my bag.

Hi, I'm new. : )

every time you watch a scary movie, you hide behind a pillow to sheild your poor eyes from the horror. but then you peek out over the top, cause you really do want to watch the scary.

but that leaves the entire top of your head exposed to killers and monsters and those aliens from "signs". you know, cause you didnt have an asthma attack. like that kid.

There have been a few text only posts lately, query and question-based, but that's normal.
But I wanted to get a picture in there somewhere, so... )

Back in May I'd bought a handmade pine table at the Kane County Flea Market for only $10. It wasn't very pretty, but it was the size I needed and I knew I could strip it and refinish it.

Before )

Well, stripping it didn't work out the way I'd hoped, because the varnish/stain/whatever that he'd used was so deep into the wood that the stripper couldn't lift it out. My dad had to take the table apart and sand it down to get the varnish/stain/whatever out, and even then he couldn't get it all out. He got a vast majority of it out, but not all of it.

Then I painted it, polished the brass hardware (which was very tiring as it was very dirty and I had to do a lot of scrubbing and soaking to get it all clean) and bought new screws for the corner pieces as the screws that came with the table were too tiny to clean and polish. Dad put it back together and voila! Pretty new table!

After )

The yellow is on one of the walls in my room and the blue is on the ceiling. The rest of my walls are a very very light and pale grey. The colors on the side are true to what's in my room; the polyurethane that my dad used on the shelves and tabletop changed their color a bit.

Hi all! I have a question regarding tshirt recons/zip hoodie construction. I would like to make a hoodie out of an old tee, kinda like the ones here. While this site sells some patterns, it doesn't sell this one, and I was wondering if anyone knew a good site/pattern/tutorial or anything like that that could help me on this. Thanks!

Hi,

I recently joined this community and have loved seeing everyones amazing crafting on here.
This is my first post on here. Late last night I found myself wanting to sew so I pulled this together.

More Pictures. )

My problem is I didn't think about the white sheet being see through because the waist was originally going to cover my boobs but that didn't work out. I need ideas to make it un-see through. As well as figuring out how to bring the top together or if i should leave it as a skirt.

I have a few mixed bristle/synthetic brushes that are starting to become a little wayward... what's a quick and easy trick that I can use to straighten out the hairs, especially using stuff the average person would have at home? Thanks much!!

Text only, sorry T_T
I searched the memories and couldn't find anything, so I figured I'd ask all you wicked people for some help :D

OKAY!

Is there a good (and not-terribly expensive) place to get custom applique patches/badges?
I'm going to be *hopefully* starting my own line of clothing soon, and would love to have little patches to decorate with/use as hangtags.

Thanks so much for your guys' help! This comm rocks my socks like no other <3

Sorry for the extremely vague post, but last summer I really got into stenciling, and around new years I got into knitting and then frienship braceletes (with embroidery floss).
Now, in addition to the blanket I'm knitting I've decided I need to get into a new craft for the summer and I plan to go to AC MOORE tomorrow but the thing is that I have no clue what to do.
I don't want to do anything requiring a sewing machine because ours is burried under 37890 3tons of craft stuff. But does anyone have some relitively cheap ideas on what to start?
I was thinking about beading but I'm not sure.
I just can't sit around all summer.

suggestions?
you girls are amazing.
